The present invention is directed to a dispensing system, device, and method for the dispensing of a fluid supplement such as in the form of a concentrated fluid containing flavoring, nutrients, medication, and/or other supplements. Certain embodiments of the invention as disclosed herein comprise a handheld apparatus which allows the dispensing of predetermined amount of a fluid with single-handed use. Certain embodiments include self-contained pods which is controlled by a removable dispenser to allow for multiple types of fluids, and preventing cross-contamination within the dispenser.

System and method for dispensing liquids

An assembly for delivering medication to a patient has a cartridge loadable with a coiled strip of successively, physically linked medication-containing pouches. The cartridge is inserted into a delivery unit which has an advance mechanism which engages the strip and drives pouches successively out of the cartridge. Pouches are fed successively to an inspection mechanism and a separation station. At the inspection station indicia on successive pouches representing a medication schedule are inspected and compared and validated against a separately stored medication schedule recorded at the time the medication is packaged in the cartridge. A separation mechanism mounted at the separation station is used to separate a pouch at the leading end of the strip from the adjacent pouches. At a pouch exit, separated pouches are routed to a delivery zone.

The present disclosure relates to a beverage machine for preparing a single serving of a mixed beverage and a capsule for use with the machine. The capsule includes an open shell defining a reservoir for holding ingredients; a lid for sealing the open shell; and, a guide member disposed within the reservoir of the open shell configured to receive a liquid stream injected by an injection needle of a beverage machine when the lid is pierced by the injection needle and to guide the liquid stream to a mixing zone within the reservoir for mixing the liquid stream with the liquid held in the reservoir to prepare a single serving of mixed beverage to be dispensed from the reservoir via a dispensing needle of the beverage machine when the dispensing needle pierces the open shell . . . .
