A method of providing custom audio processing in an audio device having an embedded audio DSP framework is disclosed. The audio device has an associated application that runs on a personal computing device. The method comprises receiving a notification of the availability of an audio processing configuration file, the audio processing configuration file identifying audio modules, interconnections between the audio modules and related settings for custom audio processing, transmitting a request for the audio processing configuration file from the personal computing device, receiving the audio processing configuration file at the personal computing device, transmitting the audio processing configuration file to the audio device from the personal computing device, and loading the audio processing configuration file into the audio device.

A low power voice processing system that includes a plurality of non-audio sensors, at least one microphone system, and a plurality of audio modules, at least some of which can be configured in selected modes. A context determination module is connected to the plurality of audio modules, and further connected to receive input from the plurality of non-audio sensors and the at least one microphone system. The context determination module acts to determine use context for the voice processing system and at least in part selects mode operation of at least some of the plurality of audio modules.

Power efficient context-based audio processing

Technologies for low-power display refresh standby include a computing device with a display such as an LCD panel. The computing device may include a system-on-a-chip (SoC) with a processor, I/O subsystem, display controller, and memory. When the computing device determines that a display image is static, the computing device enters a low-power display refresh standby mode, powering down unneeded components of the SoC such as processor cores, peripheral devices, and memory other than a dedicated display buffer. The display controller may access the dedicated display buffer via the I/O subsystem and output the image to the display. The computing device may power down the I/O subsystem and the dedicated display buffer when a display controller FIFO is full of image data, and periodically power on the I/O subsystem and display buffer to fill the display controller FIFO. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
