A magnetic resonance apparatus has a transmission and reception coil system and a gradient coil system that is designed to generate a gradient field that is periodic in one spatial direction. The gradient field and/or the examination subject can be displaced in the spatial direction of the periodicity to generate a relative position change between the periodic gradient field and an examination subject, and the transmission and reception coil system comprises individually-activatable coil arrays to allow data to be acquired to fill in gaps or resolve ambiguous data entries that occur due to the gradient field being periodic.

A patient support device which can be connected to patient placement devices of medical examination or treatment equipment, for example an MRI device, an X-ray machine, or of ambulances. The patient support device supports a patient during medical examination and treatment. The patient support device has a structural rigidity that is less than a minimal rigidity that enables the patient support device to be self-supporting while the patient is resting thereon. Such a patient support device can be designed in a simple manner in such a way that it can be used in MRI devices, as well as in devices of other types, and can be transferred between the devices without repositioning of the patient on different support devices.

In a method for the fast acquisition of a magnetic resonance image, magnetic resonance signals from an imaging region are conditioned with magnetic gradient fields that define a spatial frequency space so that the spatial frequency domain is occupied with magnetic resonance signals having trajectories that are radially directed and proceed through a projection center, and the imaging region is divided into sub-regions with an antenna of an antenna array respectively allocated to each sub-region. The antennas have respective positions relative to the projection center such that the antennas simultaneously receive the magnetic resonance signals and form reception signals from the magnetic resonance signals according to their sensitivity. The number of radially directed trajectories is of only such a size so that the sub-zones regardless of their spatial position in the imaging zone from the respective reception signals can be unambiguously reconstructed. The reception signals of the individual antennas, taking the positions of the individual antennas into consideration, are transformed in a transformation step to form a magnetic resonance image of the entire imaging zone.

A control unit is provided for the coil causing the electron beam to be deflected so as to sweep the anode in both the azimuthal and radial directions. The focus of the electron beam on the anode surface thus describes a wave-shaped path, so that the focus path on the anode is lengthened and the thermal load is reduced.
