A household PEF cooking device includes a cooking product container which can be filled with liquid and includes PEF electrodes which lie opposite one another and between which a cooking product can be introduced. A PEF signal generator applies PEF signals to the PEF electrodes, and a control device control the PEF signal generator. An IR sensor which measures contactlessly is disposed at a distance from the PEF electrodes and connected to the control device. A measuring dot of the IR sensor encompasses an outer face of an electrically conductive region of a wall of the cooking product container, which electrically conductive region can be contacted on an inner face by the liquid when the cooking product container is full.

One of the two contact parts is arranged on the door and the other one of the two contact parts is arranged on the non-movable part of the household appliance.

A PEF cooking appliance includes a PEF generator, and a carrier configured to receive a storage container for food. The carrier includes at least two PEF electrodes spaced apart to enable insertion of the storage container there between. At least one the PEF electrodes is connected to the PEF generator. The carrier is embodied as a drawer with a top cover pivotably attached thereto The drawer includes a base, with one of the two PEF electrodes being integrated into the base of the drawer and another one of the two PEF electrodes being integrated into the cover of the drawer.

A cooking appliance, in particular a baking oven, includes a cooking compartment for cooking food to be cooked, and a door for closing the cooking compartment in an operating position, with the door having a receptacle. Arranged in the door is a sensor module for identifying a property of the food to be cooked when the door assumes the operating position. The sensor module is receivable in the receptacle and reversibly removable from the receptacle.
