A pressure vessel includes a pot-like receptacle and a lid for placing thereon, the two being detachably locked together and including a circumferential sealing ring made of elastically yielding material which is located in the region of a circular edge of the lid and a circular edge of the pot for the purpose of sealing the interior against a drop in pressure. Sealing lips of the sealing ring come into close contact with the edge of the lid and the edge of the receptacle, in which case, for producing an automatic pressure-control mechanism, the sealing ring is formed over at least one portion of its circumference in such a way that it is deformed, under a pressure inside the vessel which exceeds a given value (response pressure), so as to form a venting gap between the receptacle and the lid.

The invention relates to a steam pressure vessel consisting of a receptacle and a lid, said receptacle and lid each having a long handle and being designed to be tightly joined together by way of overlapping peripheral segments along the lines of a bayonet catch, with the interposition of a sealing ring between the edge of the pot and the edge of the lid, characterized by the combination of at least two closing and opening safety devices, in which case a first safety device comprises a safety valve, the body of which is held in the open position by a spring-biased slide () until receptacle and lid are brought into the locked position by turning the two handles () so that they lie one on top of the other with the coordinating peripheral segments completely overlapping, and a second safety device raises the sealing ring from the edge of the lid by means of a safety element (safety cam) spring-biased in the open position until receptacle and lid are brought into the locked position.

The invention relates to a valve unit for a pressure vessel, the latter consisting of a receptacle and a lid which can be placed on said receptacle in such a way as to make it pressure-tight and said valve unit including: a safety function, pressure-relief function and pressure indicator function; adjustable indicator levels and pressure levels; an indicator pin () or indicator piston () which is supported against an indicator spring (), can move in axial direction and bears on its portion becoming visible upon pressurization, due to its emergence from a valve housing (), indicator rings, for example, for indicating the pressure inside the vessel; and comprising a valve body () which is movable in axial direction against the action of an exhaust steam spring () and, in the closed position, rests against a seal seat (), lifting off from this, when a given pressure inside the vessel is exceeded, to uncover a pressure-relief aperture (), in which case both the indicator spring () and the exhaust steam spring () are braced in the same direction against a common, axially adjustable pressure member ().

By twisting the lid and container relative to each another, the container and lid can be detachably locked together by a peripheral locking segments configured along the lines of a bayonet fastening. A circumferential sealing ring is in the region of the lid edge and the container edge for sealing the interior of the container against a drop in pressure when said container and lid are in the locked position. A cooking vessel has a container having an encircling container margin bent outwardly and with a cover having an encircling cover margin bent outwardly. The container can be closed airtight by the cover with the aid of a closing mechanism acting on the container margin and cover margin. The closing mechanism comprises a closure ring extending over the container circumference with a C-profile cross section open radially inwardly, which, with the aid of an actuating mechanism, can be moved from an open position with greater diameter, in which the cover can be lifted from the container, into a closed position with lesser diameter, in which the container margin and the cover margin are clamped together by interspacing a sealing ring between a lower flank and an upper flank of the closure ring. To improve the safety and the operating ease, either the encircling flanks of the closure ring are provided with radial slots open toward the inner flank margin and distributed over the circumference and/or the flanks are formed by C-profile segments, short in the circumferential direction, and disposed on an encircling annular connection element radially at the outside while keeping vacant interspaces distributed over the circumference.

A pressure cooker includes a container intended to hold cooking produce and which can be closed pressure tight with a cover that can be set on a rim of the container and locked thereto. The cover includes closing members movable between radially inward open positions, whereat the cover can be removed from the container, and radially outward locking positions, whereat the circumference of the cover is pressed against a region of the container rim with a circumferential sealing ring therebetween. The inside of the wall of the container in the region of the container rim includes a locking shoulder directed, for example, toward the container bottom, and a sealing shoulder directed, for example, toward the container opening. In the radially outward locking positions, the closing members are braced against the locking shoulder, thus pressing the sealing ring against the sealing shoulder.
