Provided is a temperature-driven valve assembly which can be manufactured in a cost-effective and simple manner as well as a gas pressure spring including the valve assembly which enables more reliable and safer operation of the gas pressure spring.

Damper includes a housing having proximal and distal ends, a first attachment point proximate the distal end of the housing, a rod having proximal and distal ends at least partially disposed within the housing and moveable relative to the housing between an extended position and a compressed position, a second attachment point proximate the proximal end of the rod, a piston joined to the rod within the housing proximate the distal end of the rod, the piston including a bypass groove having a flow area defined therein to allow fluid to flow from a first side of the piston to an opposing side of the piston, and a first washer disposed proximate a first end of the piston and at least partially covering the flow area of the bypass groove.

Systems and methods for damping photovoltaic panel arrays

A piston-cylinder unit includes: a cylindrical pressure tube having a first end side defining an end side opening; a piston, axially displaceable in the pressure tube, the piston having a piston rod, the piston rod being guided out of the pressure tube at the first end side through the end side opening; a piston rod guide and a piston rod seal, arranged inside the pressure tube, which cooperate together to sealingly guide the piston rod at the end side opening; and a cup-like protective cap surrounding an end region of the cylindrical pressure tube from the first end side, the protective cap having a base at its end, the base having a coaxial through-orifice having an inner wall through which the piston rod extends in a displaceable manner. The inner wall of the through-orifice tightly surrounds the piston rod.

Piston-cylinder unit

A piston-cylinder unit with a center longitudinal axis, a first end, a cylinder filled with a fluid, a piston arranged so as to be displaceable in the cylinder and which divides the cylinder into a first work space remote of the first end and a second work space close to the first end. A piston rod is arranged at the piston and projects through the first work space and is guided out of the cylinder concentric to the center longitudinal axis at a second end opposite the first end so as to be sealed by a guiding and sealing device, and a sensor device for direct or indirect detection of the internal pressure of the piston-cylinder unit.

A joining element for connecting a first component to a second component, wherein the joining element includes a connection member for the pivotable mounting of the first component, and part of the connection member is receivable in at least one aperture of the second component in a predetermined orientation. A fixing mechanism is provided for directly fixing the connection member to the second component when the part of the connection member received in the aperture.

Socket housing has a hemispherical ball socket and a plurality of circumferentially spaced retaining tongues which extend toward an insertion opening, the tongues being radially pivotable to engage over the equator of a ball head. An outer part has an insertion region and a receiving opening into which the socket housing can be inserted in an insertion direction via the insertion region, the insertion region having an inside surface defining an opening with a cross-sectional area which is larger than a cross-sectional area defined by an inside surface of the receiving opening. The retaining tongues are in contact with the inside surface of the receiving opening when the socket housing is in the installed position. A locking device prevents movement of the socket housing counter to the insertion direction when the socket housing is in the installed position.

Ball joint arrangement

A piston, which has a piston rod, is guided with freedom of axial movement in a cylindrical pressure tube. At one end of the pressure tube, the piston rod passes through an opening in an end wall, which closes off the end of the pressure tube. The pressure tube is surrounded by a heat-shrink sleeve, which, at the exit end of the piston rod, extends more-or-less radially inward and has a pass-through opening through which the piston rod extends. The ring-shaped end surface at the piston rod exit end of the pressure tube is enclosed by the heat-shrink sleeve.

A cylinder has an interior space which contains a medium under pressure. A piston is displaceably arranged in the cylinder and has a piston rod which projects from the cylinder at one end of the cylinder. The piston rod is enclosed by an annular seal having an inner radially encircling circumference which bears against the piston rod and an outer radially encircling circumference which bears against the inner wall of the cylinder, a side facing the interior space to which the pressure of the medium is applied, and a side remote from the interior space supported on a supporting element. The supporting element, in turn, is supported on part of the cylinder. The supporting element includes a safety element which is designed to shorten its axial length during thermal overloading, as a result of which a passage opens from the interior space of the cylinder to the environment. The safety element is made of a melting or subliming material.
