A track loading tool including a pump, a body including a main portion extending along a first axis, a first contact portion supported by the body and configured to engage a first rail, and a second contact portion supported by the body and configured to engage a second rail spaced apart from the first rail. The first contact portion and the second contact portion are positioned on a second axis offset from the first axis.

A lift system includes a cylinder having an end surface, a threaded member supported for movement with a piston, and a nut threadedly engaging the threaded member and selectively engageable with the end surface. Engagement of the nut and the end surface limits axial movement of the piston relative to the cylinder in at least one direction. A drive mechanism rotates the nut relative to the threaded member, and a control valve controls movement of the piston relative to the cylinder. A drive control mechanism controls operation of the drive mechanism and rotation of the nut. A nut sensor senses a portion of the nut. The nut sensor is in communication with at least one of the control valve and the drive control mechanism. When the nut sensor detects a portion of the nut, the control valve stops movement of the piston or the drive control mechanism stops rotation of the nut.

A rail puller that applies tension to rail sections to reduce the gap between the ends of rail sections. The rail puller comprises a first clamp assembly and a second clamp assembly located at opposite ends of the rail puller. A clamping beam is coupled to the first clamp assembly and the second clamp assembly, and has a clamping cylinder that extends and retracts to adjust the length of the clamping beam. At least two pulling members are coupled to the first clamp assembly and the second clamp assembly, and each pulling member has a pulling cylinder that extends and retracts to adjust the length of the pulling member. The clamping cylinder extends to clamp the clamp assemblies to rail sections, and the pulling cylinders retract to draw the clamp assemblies toward one another and reduce the gap between the rail sections.

The invention provides an improved fluid motor powered lift system having a valve arrangement for reducing or interrupting the fluid flow supplied to the motor when the pressure in the lift system exceeds a predetermined pressure. A valve arrangement is provided to shut-off or throttle back the fluid supplied to the fluid motor when the fluid pressure in the lift reaches a predetermined level. When the pressure in the lift system exceeds the predetermined level, pilot pressure is supplied to an automatic shut-off valve, and this in turn reduces fluid flow to fluid air motor thereby reducing or preventing pump pressure.

The invention provides a hydraulic toe jack including a base adapted to be supported by the ground, an elongated piston extending from the base and defining an axis, a generally cylindrical toe housing having a closed end and an open end, the toe housing defining an inner surface surrounding a portion of the piston, the toe housing being movable along the axis relative to the piston, interengaging components on the inner surface and the piston for preventing rotation of the toe housing relative to the piston about the axis, and a seal sealingly fixed to the toe housing adjacent the open end of the toe housing and slidably sealingly engaged with the piston.

An air operated hydraulic fluid pump having an air pressure operated motor drivingly connected to a hydraulic fluid pump to drive the hydraulic fluid pump, and an airflow control valve controlling the supply of air from an air pressure source to the air pressure operated motor, the airflow control valve causing an increase in the supply of air to the air valve pressure operated motor in proportion to increase in the hydraulic fluid pressure generated by the hydraulic fluid pump.

Fluid flow control valves are provided having a jet pump or aspirator connected to a plurality of fluid passageways. Fluid flow from one of the passageways through the jet pump creates a partial vacuum enabling fluid flow to be drawn through the other of the fluid passageways connected to the jet pump. Such valves enable hydraulic fluids of a single-acting piston-cylinder unit or the like to be readily exhausted.

A shear seal valve includes a valve body defining an interior valve chamber and a slide member axially movable in the valve chamber. Fluid passages, formed in the valve body and the slide, are selectively interconnected in accordance with the relative position of the slide member within the valve chamber, and tubular shear seals, biased tightly against the slide, avoid fluid leakage along the slide. To provide low-friction sliding movement of the slide relative to the slide body, a pair of roller bearings are supported by the valve body so as to engage the slide. By mounting the roller bearings to the valve body rather than to the slide itself, the slide can be made smaller, and greater freedom in the location of the fluid passages within the slide is obtained. To simplify construction and assembly, the roller bearings are mounted in a removable cover plate forming a part of the valve body and defining one wall of the interior valve chamber. Preferably, the tubular shear seals include frusto-conically shaped flanges for limiting movement of the seals and for avoiding the development of cocking forces on the seals.
