A set of parts for a radial fan has a fan wheel (), a main housing part (), and a complementary housing part (). They can be assembled to form a first housing that encloses the fan wheel (). The housing has an inlet opening () and an outlet (). At least one second complementary fan wheels (&#x2033;) (&#x2033;), the shape of which differs from the first fan wheel part (), can be connected to the motor instead of the fan wheel ().

Set of parts and method for producing a radial fan

An electric motor () has a stator () having a number S of stator poles (); a rotor () having a rotor magnet ('), which rotor magnet (&#x2032;) has a number R of rotor poles (), R being equal to S, and the rotor () or the stator (), or both, exhibiting a magnetic asymmetry. The asymmetry facilitates startup. The electric motor has a single-phase winding arrangement () with first (), second () and third () terminals. Current can be made to flow, selectively, from either the first or the second terminal, through certain coils, to the third terminal (). There is an output stage (), preferably an H-bridge. The W total coils comprise a plurality of subgroups (TG, TG) of coils. A method for current flow through an electric motor utilizes these sub-groups (TG, TG) for current flow.

Single-phase electric motor

An electric fan has a drive motor having a fan rotor, an apparatus for generating a rotation speed signal (n_i), an apparatus for generating a power level signal (P_i) that represents power consumed; a first regulator (n_RGL) for regulating the rotation speed signal (n_i) to a predefined target value (n_s); a second regulator (P_RGL) for regulating the power level signal (P_i) to a predefined power level signal target value (P_s) that corresponds to a predefined minimum consumed power level (P_min), where the first regulator (n_RGL) and the second regulator (P_RGL) apply at least one control output signal (SW) to the drive motor and interact in such a way that, during operation, the at least one control value (SW) in a first state is determined by the first regulator (n_RGL), and in a second state is determined by the second regulator (n_RGL).

Rotation-speed-controlled fan with control of the power consumption of the electric motor

An electric motor () has a stator () and a rotor (). The latter is equipped with a cup-like rotor part () and with a ring magnet () adhesively bonded therein, which magnet has an outer circumference () on which are provided elevations () and depressions () that extend at least partly in the longitudinal direction of the ring magnet (). The outer circumference () of the ring magnet (), that faces toward the cup-like rotor part () after assembly, is formed with at least one opening or channel (), extending in a circumferential direction, that is connected to at least a plurality of the flat depressions (). Positive mechanical engagement between adhesive and ring magnet enhances durability, and discourages any tendency toward relative rotation between the magnet () and the cup-like rotor part ().

The invention relates to a method for operating an electronically commutated motor () that comprises a rotor (), a stator () having a multi-strand winding arrangement () for whose energization a power stage () is provided, a first lead () and a second lead () for connecting the power stage () to a voltage source (), and a first controller. A first signal (U; U) is sensed, which signal characterizes a current (I_IN; I_IN'; I_M; I_M&#x2032;) flowing through at least one of the leads (); the first controller generates at least one clocked signal (PWM) and outputs it to the power stage () in order to influence the first value, permitted current. The invention also relates to a corresponding motor ().

Electronically commutated motor

A fan arrangement () has a fan () driven by an electric motor (). It further has an apparatus for continuously detecting an actual electrical value associated with the electric motor () during operation, an input apparatus for inputting a desired electrical value for the operation of said electric motor, a comparison apparatus () for comparing said electrical value with the actual electrical value, and a controller which regulates said electrical value by pulse width modulation ().

Fan arrangement in which the consumed electric power is influenced

A fan arrangement () has a fan () driven by an electric motor (), also an apparatus for detecting the electrical power (P) consumed by the electric motor () during operation; an input apparatus () for inputting a desired rotation speed (n) of said electric motor (); a converter () for converting said desired rotation speed (n) into a desired electrical power (P); and a controller (), which regulates the control input controlling the electric motor () in such a way that the difference between the electrical power (P) consumed in operation and the desired electrical power (P) is reduced, in order thereby to improve the air output characteristic curve () of the fan arrangement () at least in a portion of the overall operating range.

Fan arrangement

An electric motor has a DC link circuit (), a permanent-magnet rotor (), and a control circuit having a full bridge (). A program-controlled calculation arrangement () is configured to supply the semiconductor switches of a first bridge half with a PWM signal (') and to supply the semiconductor switches () of the second bridge half with a commutation signal (O, O&#x2032;). An energy storage device () is provided which, during normal operation of the motor (), is chargeable from the DC link circuit () and serves, upon cessation of the signals from the calculation arrangement (), to make the semiconductor switches () of the other bridge half conductive, and thereby to short-circuit the stator winding arrangement () through those semiconductor switches () in order to decelerate the permanent-magnet rotor () and to thereby minimize risk of human injury.

Electric motor

An improved electric motor has a rotor (), a stator () having at least one phase winding strand (), an output stage () for influencing the current flow in said phase winding strand, a DC link circuit () for supplying the output stage () with current, including a link circuit capacitor (), and a control unit () having an arrangement () for sensing a value characterizing the current recharge into the link circuit capacitor (), which control unit () is configured to specify commutation instants as a function of the sensed value, and to perform commutation operations in the power stage () at the commutation instants thus specified. Avoiding a need for prolonged 'currentless intervals' permits achieving higher efficiency and power output, particularly in a motor having less than three winding phases.

Method and arrangement for sensorless operation of an electronically commutated motor

An electrically driven fan arrangement, suitable for energy-conserving installations, includes a fan, an electric motor () serving to drive the fan, and associated control apparatus, namely: a sensing apparatus () for sensing a volumetric air flow rate () generated by the fan () and for generating a measured volumetric air flow value (Vmess), and a volumetric flow rate control arrangement () for automatically controlling the volumetric air flow rate () generated by the fan () to a predetermined target volumetric air flow value (V_s). The volumetric flow rate control arrangement () is configured to generate a target rotation speed value (N_s) for the electric motor (). A rotation speed controller (), which automatically controls the rotation speed of the electric motor () to the target rotation speed rate (N_s) generated by the volumetric flow rate control arrangement (), is also provided.

Energy-conserving ventilating fan

An electronically commutated motor has a permanent-magnet rotor () having: at least two rotor poles (); at least one phase (); a power stage (); and a rotor position sensor (). Associated therewith is a control circuit implemented to carry out the following steps in order to even out the motor current (): A) after a change of the rotor position signal (), referred to as a first pole change, a first value (I_MEAS(HCnt&#x2212;1)) of the current through the at least one phase () is ascertained; B) after a predetermined time span (T_Default+T_Offset(HCnt&#x2212;1)), a new commutation is carried out; C) after a change of the rotor position signal (), referred to as a second pole change, a second value for the motor current (I_MEAS(HCnt)) is ascertained; D) as a function of the difference between the first value (I_MEAS(HCnt&#x2212;1)) and second value (I_MEAS(HCnt)), the value for the predetermined time span is modified.

Method and arrangement for commutating an electronically commutated motor

In an electronically commutated motor (M), rotor position signals are generated by means of a galvanomagnetic rotor position sensor (). A timer (CNT_HL) brings about an advanced commutation which occurs only once the motor has reached a specific rotation speed, and whose magnitude is a function of the rotation speed.

A drive circuit for brushless DC motors including a rotor and a stator with at least one stator coil includes a commutation device which supplies commutation pulses of drive current to the stator coil(s). The commutation device senses the rotor position and calculates current rotor speed therefrom. The rotor speed is then used to shift the commutation circuits according to predetermined functions. The shifting of commutation currents is occasioned by shifting either or both of the ignition part of a commutation pulse and the extinction part of such pulse.

Drive circuit for brushless DC motors

An arrangement having an electric motor () has a microcontroller () for influencing at least one motor function and a nonvolatile storage element () for storing at least one variable as a definition for that motor function. The arrangement also has an interface () for a data line () for transferring the at least one variable, in particular a current limiting value (I) from or to a storage element () by way of the microcontroller (), and optionally by way of an internal data bus (). The invention also relates to use of the device in the context of batteries of fans, and program-controlled current limitation for startup of an electric motor ().

Device with an electromotor

If a motor becomes defective, e.g. stops running, runs too slowly, or becomes too hot, many customers demand the generation of an alarm signal, i.e. ask for an alarm device provided on the motor. The following method is used for configuring this alarm signal: At least one parameter for configuring the alarm device of the motor is inputted via a input interface (); the at least one parameter is stored in a parameter memory (); the execution of at least one routine of the alarm device provided in the microprocessor () is influenced by said stored parameter or by a parameter derived therefrom. The invention furthermore concerns a motor for carrying out such a method. In a motor of this kind, the alarm device can easily be configured in accordance with a customer's present needs.
