A process for connecting at least two components, particularly body components of motor vehicles, wherein the first component has an undercut on a side facing the second component. In the area of the undercut, a connection piece is cast to the first component. The connection piece is designed such that, during its solidification, the connection piece is firmly connected with the first component by the contraction of a last-solidifying core area of the connection piece. Then the second component is mounted on the connection piece.

Process and system for connecting at least two components

A method for producing a trim panel with a thin decorative layer on a supporting element. The thin decorative layer is composed of an organic and/or crystalline material which is frangible in a thin layer, in particular natural stone. The method including the steps of: An adhesive and a nonwoven fabric or a film are applied as a plastic fixing film to a surface of the thin decorative layer. A surface of the supporting element later facing the decorative layer is coated with an adhesive. The supporting element is placed with the side not coated with the adhesive into a lower mold. The decorative layer with the plastic fixing film is roughly cut to size and placed with its uncoated surface onto the surface of the supporting element coated with the adhesive and positioned. An elastic element is positioned on the decorative layer with the plastic fixing film. Pressure is applied to the side of the elastic element facing away from the decorative layer, the decorative layer adapting itself to the form of the surface of the supporting element and adhesively bonding to the supporting element. The composite structure composed of the supporting element and the decorative layer is removed from the lower mold and an outer contour of the composite structure composed of the supporting element and the decorative layer is machined to the final dimensions. The plastic fixing film is removed from the decorative layer by the action of heat and/or solvent.

A vehicle having a multipart lowerable vehicle top has at least two bending-resistant top elements. The top elements are swivellably connected with one another and, by way of at least one top element, are swivellably connected with the vehicle body. For connecting the top elements with one another and/or with a vehicle body, swivelling joints are provided such that, each connection having at least one drivable swivelling joint.

Vehicle with a multipart lowerable vehicle top

A motor vehicle having a convertible top and whose interior is shielded from drafts by means of a rearward protective wall for extensive protection of the occupants. The interior of the motor vehicle is largely enclosed around a circumference along upper edges of the side walls by the windshield, the side windows and the protective wall. A detachable roof part encloses the interior. As a result, minimum expenditures are required to place the roof part in an open or closed position.

Motor vehicle with a convertible top

An air bag system, for example for a steering wheel, in which a surface of the cushioning arrangement facing the vehicle interior is at least partially covered by a thin-walled sheet metal unit. The sheet metal bar unit is fixedly connected with the surface of the cushioning arrangement. The sheet metal unit is provided with at least one turned-in edge toward the inside of the cushioning arrangement in the area of lateral edges of the cushioning arrangement as well as in the area of the at least one tear edge.

A roof construction for a motor vehicle is provided with a forward roof part, a rearward roof part having C-columns and having a rear window, and an adjusting device moving the two roof parts between a lowered inoperative position and a closed operative position. The adjusting device has a main hinge pin about which at least the rearward roof part can be swung. By way of a hinge pin, the rear window is hinged to the C-columns. One end of a drag lever is laterally linked in each case to the rear window, and its other end is disposed on the vehicle body side in a hinge axle. The hinge axle of the drag lever is situated at a distance from the main hinge pin.

Roof construction for a motor vehicle

A lamella-type sliding roof of a motor vehicle, has lamellae which, when the roof is, open, are tilted upward in a spaced manner with respect to one another and, particularly with respect to their closed position, are pushed on one another in a distance-reducing manner. A vehicle ceiling which is deformable and exercises a sealing function in a particularly simple and effective manner irrespective of the momentary position of the lamellae in their displacement direction extends in each case exclusively in an area situated below them. For this purpose, the deformable vehicle ceiling is constructed as a foil leading transversely to the displacement direction of the lamellae continuously into a dirt and water removal groove.

A convertible motor vehicle roof construction has the C-column sections arranged to project freely at least in their lowered inoperative position and at least along a portion of their length without any transverse connection. Control devices for the forward displacement of the rearward roof part in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle are provided so that, in the inoperative position, the C-column sections at least partially laterally flank a rear area of the vehicle interior.

A passenger car has a roof which can be lowered in a rearward vehicle structure of the vehicle body. Each lateral roof frame part is foldably connected with the rearward roof area by way of a hinge arrangement. A securing device for fastening in the respective end position is assigned to an operative position of the roof frame parts in which these project toward the front as well as to an inoperative position in which these are folded in.

A motor vehicle is provided with an at least partially retractable roof and a rear seat area provided with a seat arrangement to be used as a storage space into which the retractable roof area can be moved from above, whereby an occupying of the rear seats becomes possible only when the roof is closed. In order to obtain more constructive freedom in designing the rear seat area and the roof coordinated with the rear seat area, at least one part of the seat arrangement can be displaced from an in-use position which obstructs areas of the storage space of the roof into a not-in-use position which exposes the space for the lowering of the roof.

Motor vehicle having an at least partially retractable roof

A motor vehicle with a lowerable roof construction, particularly a convertible sports car, has a roof part and a rear part as well as a forced control device for controlling the relative movement of the roof part with respect to the rear part. The forced control device has at least one control element which is connected in the region of the roof swivel axis in a rotationally fixed manner to the roof part and interacts with at least one further control element which is fixed to the body of the vehicle and is in the region of the rear swivel axis.

Motor vehicle with a lowerable roof construction

A Video Display Unit ('VDU') workstation is matched to the specific safety requirements in a motor vehicle. In its working position, the configuration of the VDU workstation is adapted to be changed, in the event of an accident, by repositioning individual components in response to an impact-specific force in such a way that, inter alia, its extension in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is reduced. When not in use, the VDU workstation can be lowered in a stowage recess of a supporting part mounted, for example in the back rest of a vehicle seat.

A vertically adjustable roll bar for a motor vehicle is disclosed which has side arms displaceable within holding tubes rising vertically parallel to the vehicle sides. The holding tubes are connected to one another by a connecting element on the tube stems extending in the direction of the vehicle width. The holding tubes are supplemented by another transverse-running connecting element to form a rigid guide frame, which is rectangularly closed in the transverse direction of the vehicle.
