A sharpening device for a carpenter's pencil. A housing has a pivotable guide with a cruciform passage to receive the pencil in either of two positions. A pair of oppositely directed blades are mounted on opposed walls within the housing. The pencil is pivoted while sliding it through the guide to obtain a selected sharpened profile on the end of the pencil.

Pivoting sharpening device for pencil with non-circular cross section

A sharpener for a carpenter's pencil that creates a profile shape desired by carpenters rather than a conical point. One end of the sharpener creates a sharpened profile on the narrow side of the pencil, while the opposite end of the sharpener creates a sharpened profile on the wide side when the pencil is rotated 90&deg; about its axis. The pencil is slid laterally back and forth in a guide member, advancing along its axis as material is removed from the narrow side by fixed blades shaving material at an angle. The pencil is then rotated 90&deg; and inserted in the other guide and moved back and forth advancing along its axis as material is removed from the wide side by fixed blades in a similar manner.

Sliding sharpening device for pencil with non-circular cross section

Improved push button release for a centrifugal golf swing indicator which releases the indicator weight when the push button is depressed, and resets the golf swing indicator for the next use when the release button is released. Further improvements include a pair of opposed C-clamp attachments and an indicator for the indicator weight.

Golf swing indicator

A kitchen tool for handling disposable food containing bags in described. The took includes first and second pivotally-connected members which have bag-gripping edges between which a bag is gripped. At least one such edge and as described both bag-gripping edges have slots through which a knife can move to cut a bag as it is held. A bag cutter is mounted on one member to cut a bag along the slots. A lock mechanism is described with which the members cannot be opened unless the cutter is moved to a safe position.
