Methods and apparatus for human anatomical orthoses. In one embodiment, an orthoses is disclosed that has been integrated into a sock and includes a tensioning element that is configured to keep the top portion of the sock at or above a user's calf muscle, a rotary tensioning mechanism disposed adjacent to the top portion of the sock, a support cable that is weaved within the body of the sock such that the support cable is maintained in close proximity with a user's leg when tension is applied thereto, and a supporting structure that is coupled to the support cable, the supporting structure being disposed adjacent to a user's toes. Methods of manufacturing and using the aforementioned orthoses is also disclosed.

Foot ankle orthosis

Ankle foot orthosis and methods of manufacturing an ankle foot orthosis. In one embodiment, an ankle foot orthosis is disclosed that includes a foot plate constructed to have both a trimmable portion and a non-trimmable portion. The ankle foot orthosis includes a spiral strut coupled with either the hindfoot region of the foot plate laterally of a mid-line for the foot plate or the midfoot region of the foot plate laterally of the mid-line. The spiral strut includes a transition portion that spirals by approximately sixty-five degrees (65°) over less than one-hundred sixty millimeters (160 mm) in height from the bottom surface of the foot plate. The spiral strut also includes an adjustable portion that enables a cuff coupled thereto to be height adjustable. Methods of manufacturing the aforementioned ankle foot orthoses are also disclosed.

Method of manufacturing an ankle foot orthosis

Methods and apparatus for an orthopedic device. In one embodiment, the orthopedic device includes a first panel defining opposed first and second sides; a second panel having a first end secured to the first side of the first panel along a seam, and a second end securable to the second side of the first panel at a location site; and a first strap having a first end secured to the first side of the first panel along the seam and laying under the second panel, and a second end securable to the second side of the first panel at the location site. The orthopedic device may include a dynamic force strap that includes three ends, that collectively helically extend between upper and lower portions of the orthopedic device and connect to the first panel.
