A measuring device is provided for measuring the absorption of gases. The measuring device () includes a radiation source (), a first detector element (), a second detector element () and a reflector array (). The reflector array () defines a first optical path () between the radiation source () and the first detector element () and defines a second optical path () between the radiation source () and the second detector element (). The first optical path () has at least two points of intersection with itself and the second detector element () is arranged outside of a first plane which is defined by the radiation source () and two points of intersection () of the first optical path ().

Measuring device for measuring the absorption of gases

A system, for the transcutaneous measurement of a substance concentration, preferably alcohol, in blood, includes a light source (); a detector device (); an optical device ('), with an inlet (), an outlet () and an exit opening (); and a contact surface element () with a contact surface (). Measuring radiation emitted by the light source () reaches the inlet () and exits the exit opening (), to the contact surface (). The optical device (&#x2032;) focuses measuring radiation at a measuring point () at a predefined distance from the contact surface (). The optical device (&#x2032;) is configured such that scattered radiation generated in the measuring point () and entering into the exit opening () is focused at an outlet point () at the outlet (). The detector device () is arranged to detect the scattered radiation focused at the outlet point ().

System for the transcutaneous determining of blood alcohol concentration

A gas measurement system for measuring the concentration of gaseous and/or vaporous components of a gas mixture by means of the color change of at least one reaction substance on a reaction support unit in which the at least one reaction substance is arranged on the reaction support unit separately within at least two light permeable channels is provided in such a manner that data can be read out reliably at low technical expense. The data reading device can be designed as a digital camera and/or as a reading apparatus for an electronic data storage device.

Gas measurement system

An optical gas sensor (), for quantitatively measuring a concentration of one or more gases, includes a radiation source () for emitting light waves (L), a cuvette () for holding a gas (G) to be measured, and a detector () for measuring light intensities. The light source () includes at least one emitter () of light waves (L) and is configured to emit light waves (L) of at least one first wavelength and of a second wavelength different from the first wavelength simultaneously or separately from each other. The emitter () is further configured to emit a spectrum the full half-life width of which is a maximum 50% of the effective wavelength, and to emit light waves (L) having a controlled beam path. The detector () is configured to quantitatively detect an intensity of emitted light waves (L) of the first wavelength and of the second wavelength.

Optical gas sensor comprising an LED emitter for the emission of light of a narrow bandwidth

A measuring device () and a measurement method measure a concentration of gaseous/aerosol components of a gas mixture. A reaction carrier () has a flow channel () defining a reaction chamber () having a optically detectable reaction material (), that reacts with a gas mixture component or with a reaction product. The measuring device () includes a gas-conveying assembly () with a gas-conveying apparatus () conveying the gas mixture and a detection assembly (), which has a lighting apparatus () for lighting the reaction chamber (), an optical sensor () for sensing the optically detectable reaction, and an evaluating unit () evaluating sensor data and determining a concentration of the component of the gas mixture. The detection assembly () senses a speed of a reaction front () propagating in the flow direction in the reaction chamber () and determines a preliminary concentration from the speed of the reaction front ().

Measuring device and measuring method

A method for signal detection with a gas analysis system (') includes a radiation source (); a gas measuring section () containing gas to be measured; a Fabry-Perot interferometer (); a thermal sensor () configured to cause a change in voltage between electrodes with electromagnetic radiation falling thereon and arranged such that radiation released by a second interferometer mirror falls on the thermal sensor. The method includes irradiating the gas measuring section with radiation source radiation, continuously increasing or decreasing a distance of interferometer mirrors during a generating of time signal pulses at a constant period of time from one another. After a predefined number of time signal pulses, the voltage generated between the electrodes is detected and stored as a measured signal value. After a further predefined number of time signal pulses, the voltage generated between the electrodes is detected again and stored as a measured signal value.

Method for signal detection in a gas analysis system

A thermotherapy device for treatment of neonates has a bordered lying surface () for receiving a neonate, a vertical support column () arranged adjacent to the head end of the lying surface () and radiant heaters (), supported by the column, directed at the lying surface (). A control unit controls the heating output of each of the radiant heaters (). At least one first radiant heater () is directed at a head end half of the lying surface (). At least one second radiant heater () is directed at the other half of the lying surface. The control unit () adjusts the heating output of the first radiant heater and the second radiant heater in such that, with the lying surface () arranged horizontally, the heating output of the second radiant heater () is greater by a predefined factor than that of the first radiant heater ().

Thermotherapy device

A gas measurement system for measuring the concentration of gaseous and/or vaporous components of a gas mixture by means of a color change of at least one reaction substance on a reaction support unit, which is arranged in at least two light permeable channels in such a manner that the color change on the reaction substance can be detected at low expense on a large number of separate positions. The detecting unit which detects the color change can be designed as a digital camera with an electronic image converter or image sensor, and an imaging optics system (e.g., a lens system). Gas detector system

A gas-measuring arrangement () with an open optical measuring section () is formed by a measuring device () with an array of lenses (), a phase mask (), an optical path mirror () positioned obliquely, and a reflecting mirror () located outside the measuring device () at the end of the open measuring section (). The light is decoupled to a detector () via a phase mask () and the optical path mirror (). The phase mask () diverges a light intensity spot and the light intensity ring is decoupled by an obliquely positioned optical path mirror () towards a detector ().
