Method and power plant comprising a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) for production of electrical energy and Hgas. The power plant is charged with a feed gas selected from the group consisting of natural gas, bio-gas and syngas. The feed gas, prior to being fed to the SOFC, is reformed in a reformer with a CaO containing COabsorber, thereby producing a carbon free Hgas as feed for the SOFC while converting CaO to CaCO. The latter is regenerated to CaO in an endothermic reaction in a CaO regenerator at a temperature of at least 850&#xb0; C. utilizing heat from the SOFC to heat the regenerator. A heat exchange medium collects heat in the SOFC and is subjected to further temperature increase in a heating device before being subjected to heat exchange in the CaO regenerator.

Method and device for biogas upgrading and hydrogen production from anaerobic fermentation of biological material under production of energy rich gases selected among methane and hydrogen or a combination thereof. The method comprises addition of hydrogen gas to a fermentation step to enhance the methane: COratio in the raw biogas produced. At least part of the raw biogas is subjected to a step of sorption enhanced reforming without prior separation of CO, using CaO as an absorbent to capture COfrom the raw biogas as well as COreleased in the reforming reaction. CaO is regenerated in an endothermic reaction using heat at least partially provided, directly or indirectly, by the bio-gas to be upgraded, thereby producing substantially pure hydrogen and substantially pure CO.

Method and device for upgrading of biogas and hydrogen production from anaerobic fermentation of biological material

A method and device for sustainable, simultaneous production of energy in the forms electricity, hydrogen gas and heat from a carbonaceous gas, the method having the following steps: 1. continuously dividing a feed charge of carbonaceous gas into a first feed gas flow and a second feed gas flow, 2. charging the first feed gas flow to a primary SOFC to produce electricity and heat and CO, 3. charging the other feed gas flow, to a hydrogen gas forming reactor system to produce hydrogen and CO, 4. heating the hydrogen gas forming system at least partially by heat developed in at least one SOFC, 5. optionally capturing the COformed in the primary SOFC by burning the 'afterburner' gases in pure oxygen and drying the exhaust gas, 6. capturing the COformed in the hydrogen gas forming reactor system by use of an absorbent.

Method and device for simultaneous production of energy in the forms electricity, heat and hydrogen gas

A particulate, heterogeneous solid COabsorbent composition, comprising decomposition products of CaAlOafter having been heated to a temperature between 500&#xb0; C. and 925&#xb0; C. in the presence of HO and COfor a period of time sufficient to allow the CaAlOto react and form the particulate, heterogeneous absorbent composition which exhibits a higher concentration of aluminum than calcium in the particle core but a higher concentration of calcium than aluminum at the particle surface. The invention also comprises a method for preparing the particulate, heterogeneous product as well as a method for utilizing the composition for separating COfrom a process gas.

Method for industrial manufacture of pure MgCOcomprising providing an olivine containing species of rock, to comminute the olivine containing species of rock to increase its surface, to contact the comminuted olivine containing species of rock with water and CO. The process is conducted in at least two steps, namely a first step (R) at a first pH where a dissolving reacting as represented the equation: MgSiO+4H=2Mg+SiO+2HO, takes place. Then a precipitation takes place in the second step (R) at a higher pH as represented by the equations: Mg+HCO=MgCO+H, and Mg+CO=MgCO, the presence of HCOand Hions mainly provided by the reaction between COand water.
