A method of fault detection in synchronous machines includes using at least one sensor to determine parameters linked to the magnetic field generated within the synchronous machine including parameters based on one or more of magnetic field strength, rotor current or voltage, stator current or voltage, and vibration. The sensor measurements are processed to identify data artefacts linked to the magnetic field, wherein the processing includes one or more signal processing techniques based on time, frequency, and both time and frequency. Subsequently, the output of the signal processing is analysed in order to identify and categorise irregularities in the magnetic field that are indicative of a fault in the synchronous machine. The analysing step includes recognising patterns in the processed sensor measurements, via use of computer aided pattern recognition techniques such as via machine learning algorithms.

Fault detection in synchronous machines

A valve including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet coupled by a fluid channel, all of which are defined by walls and structures produced by micromachining of glass and/or silicon. An actuator can be set to at least two different positions in order to vary the flow cross section of the fluid channel. The geometries of the fluid inlet, outlet and channel are adapted for preventing the flow from changing its direction so sharply that a significant portion of contaminating droplets and or particles in the flow hit the walls of structures, as given in any arrangement according to or between the following two extremes: i) flow outlet is perpendicular to the flow inlet and the outlet dimension is larger than a critical dimension, Lestimated according to a given formula and/or as simulated in a Computational Fluid Dynamics tool, and ii) flow outlet and flow channel is generally parallel to flow inlet giving a substantially unidirectional flow pattern.

The present invention relates to a device for terminating cables ( ), particularly for underwater termination of high voltage power cable and for conducting high voltage conductors in an electrical underwater apparatus, with the purpose of providing a liquid and water tight termination, at the same time as it provides pressure relief for vital components.
