A method for managing active measurements for determining performance parameters in a communication network comprises obtaining of a maximum permitted subsession duration and obtaining of time margins. The method further comprises determining whether or not a critical resource involved in the active measurement is active due to other activities than active measurements. If the determination concluded that the critical resource is active, a sending of an ensemble of packets of a subsession of an active measurement session is initiated. If there is an intended next subsession of the active measurement session and if a time since a last ensemble of packets was sent exceeds a sleep-init time comprised in the time margins, at least the determining and, if permitted, the initiating a sending of an ensemble of packets of the next subsession of the active measurement session is repeated.

Methods and arrangements for active measurements

Method and arrangement in a network control node, for performing access control of a mobile node in a handover from a source cell to a target subscriber group cell. The method comprises retrieving an Allowed CSG List of the radio cell from a CSG Database over a first networkinterface (CSGi) between the ANDSF node and the CSG Database. Furthermore, the ANDSF node triggers the first UE to establish a connection to the ANDSF node over a second network interface (ANDSFi) between the ANDSF node () and the first UE. In addition, the ANDSF node receives cell information indicating the position of the cell with controlled access and the Allowed CSG List is sent to the first UE.

The present invention relates to an arrangement and a method respectively for providing an end user with access to an IP network (login). It comprises a user station, an access server of an access network, a web server and an authentication server. The end user station comprises first means for communication with the access server and second means for communication over a mobile telecommunication system with the authentication server. The access/login procedure comprises a first and a second phase, the authentication server controls the first phase comprising a one-time-password (OTP) login sequence, and, if the one time password (OTP) is valid, the second login phase is performed in order to login the end user at the access server, by creating a temporary account for which user credentials are defined.

Arrangement and a method relating to IP network access

In a mobile, wireless telecommunications network, communications relating to a mobile terminal can be protected during a handover of the mobile terminal from a first access point to a second access point. This may be accomplished by transmitting a security token from the first access point to the mobile terminal, and then from the mobile terminal to the second access point, over the radio interface. Thereafter, the security token is transmitted from the first access point to the second access point through the fixed network to which both the first and the second access points are connected. The communications link between the mobile terminal and the second access point needed to achieve secure handover is then established only if the second access point determines that the security token received from the mobile terminal matches the security token received from the first access point.

A mobile telephone is used to control the routing of an incoming or outgoing call in a mobile communications network. A number of registration devices having low energy transmitters are strategically located throughout the coverage area of the mobile communications network. Each registration device is associated with a number of nearby fixed telephones. As the mobile terminal enters the coverage area of a registration device, the mobile telephone receives a registration signal from the registration device. At the onset of a call, the mobile terminal displays a list of the fixed telephones to a user. The user inputs a preference to the mobile terminal to receive or make the incoming or outgoing call via one of the nearby fixed telephones or the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal transmits the preference to a service node, which sets up and appropriately routes the call. The mobile terminal thus remotely controls the routing of the incoming or outgoing call.

In a mobile cellular radio system, load balancing is achieved by moving dynamically the borders between any two cells such that an overloaded cell becomes smaller and the neighboring cell larger. This is achieved by lowering the entering signal strength threshold for handoff to the neighboring cell and/or increasing the entering signal strength threshold for handoff from the neighboring cell. Thresholds are unique for any two cells.
