Disclosed herein are various systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing a system independent Configuration Management Database identification system. In an implementation, a dynamic identification system correlates records of an originating system with records of an Authoritative Configuration Management Database (CMDB) including a set of one or more identifying rules that define a minimum amount of information in order to generate an identifying signature that serves as a common reference between a record of the originating system with a matching Configuration Item (CI) record of the ACMDB, receiving, from the originating system, information to generate an identifying signature, determining that the generated first identifying signature matches a stored identifying signature, and correlating the first record of the originating system corresponding with the generated first identifying signature with the one of the CI records of the ACMDB corresponding with the matching one of the identifying signatures.

System independent configuration management database identification system

Embodiments of systems and methods for network modelling include determining a device representation of each device on a network. A normalized device representation associated with a device representation of each device is determined using a library of device representation parser functions. A static network map of the network is generated based on each normalized device representation. A routing protocol peering session is established between each device and a routing protocol server using a routing protocol. A status of each device and each link is determined based on updates from each routing protocol peering session. A live map of the network is generated based on the status of each device. Configuration errors and network errors are determined based at least in part on the static network map and the live map, and routing errors are determined based at least in part on a comparison between protocol prefixes and predetermined network invariants.

A data center for executing a data processing application includes processing units, sub-units or servers. Each of the processing units, sub-units or servers can execute a part or all of the data processing application. The processing units, sub-units or servers are electrical disjoint with respect to data communications, but can communicate with each other over free space optical links.

An exemplary method includes booting a computing device, in response to the booting, accessing a file that includes domain names and resolving at least one of the domain names by issuing a request to a server where the resolving occurs as a background process. An exemplary method includes receiving a notice to invalidate client DNS resolver cache information for a domain name, accessing a list of client subscribers to an invalidation service for the domain name and issuing an instruction to the client subscribers to invalidate their respective client DNS resolver cache information for the domain name. An exemplary method includes receiving a request to resolve a domain name, resolving the domain name and transmitting information for the resolved domain name and additional information for at least one other domain name. Client-side management of domain name information

An exemplary failover module includes (a) instructions to respond to a connection problem to a host server at an IP address by selecting a different IP address from a cached list of IP addresses for a domain name associated with the host server and (b) instructions to return the selected, different IP address to future name queries where the instructions to respond, the instructions to initiate, and the instructions to return execute at an operating system level of a computing device configurable to connect to at least one of a plurality of host servers. Such a module may include instructions to optionally initiate a connection to a host server at the selected, different IP address. An exemplary failover module may optionally select an IP address based in part on Internet Location Coordinates (ILCs) where the host servers reside in an ILC enhanced Domain Name System (DNS). Other methods, devices and systems are also disclosed.
