An improved tool for railway track adjustment machines is disclosed which may be made by processes forging, casting, and which includes a shaft and a blade manufactured as separate entities and force-fitted together. In making the tool the lower end of the shaft is formed so that it is able to be forced between flanges located on the rear side of the blade. This lower end preferably has a transverse cross section shaped as a trapezoid with an apex angle .gamma. and is upwardly and outwardly tapered at an angle .alpha.. The flanges located on the rear side of the blade are manufactured from the same piece of material as the blade and define a slot which opens upwardly and outwardly at an angle to the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tool and the symmetrical plane of the blade. A method the slot defined between the flanges has a transverse cross section which tapers inwardly at an angle .delta. and may be formed by deforming the blade.

The present invention relates to a method of attaching a wear part to an earth-working tool and a thereto adapted wear part. Characteristic of the invention is that the parts are joined together by means of a press fit which in turn is blocked by means of pretensioned resilient locking means which when fitted in place continually act upon the parts in the direction of interconnection. The invention provides a play-free and reliable interconnection for the tool and wear part, which is also very easy to remove.

This invention relates to a wear-parts system for earth-moving machines such as digger, loading, and mining machines. This wear-parts system consists of a holder (2, 23) and at least one protruding wear-part (8, 24) in the form of a tooth or similar fixed on the front of the holder (2, 23) by means of a wedge or other locking device (15, 16, 38). According to the invention the wear-part lands directly against the holder within a forward (5, 25) and a rear landing area (7, 27) in which a landing free from play within the forward landing area (5, 25) is achieved by means of a wedging effect between the wear-part (8, 24) and the holder (2, 23) when the wear-part is pressed or drawn backwards into the holder while a landing free from play is achieved between both these parts within the rear landing area (7, 27) by means of the locking device (15, 16, 38) pressing two angled relative to each other landing surfaces (42, 43) in the rear of the wear-part against two opposite equivalently angled landing surfaces (40, 41) in the holder.

This invention relates to a wear-parts system of teeth for earth-moving machine shovels, mounted at the front of the shovel and comprising several loosely interconnected parts such as tooth points (1), adapters or holders (2, 9), cutting edge protectors (11) etc. The interconnection of these parts is carried out by means of interacting male and female formed parts (15, 16, 19, 20 and 13, 14, 21, 22). The parts are locked in the assembled position by means of specially formed locking wedges (7) fitted at right angles to the assembly direction. Openings are provided in the various parts for the locking devices.

Wear parts system

An improved securing member is disclosed for fastening wear parts to a support, in which a resilient body is fastened between two deformable edge members. In use, the securing member is placed between the wearing part and its support, after which one or another of the edge members is deformed in such a manner as to prevent removal of the wear part.

A cutter tooth for earth moving machines is attached to an adapter secured to the tool of the machine. A fitting block between the adapter and the tool prevents transverse movement of the adapter and facilitates installation of the tooth at various angles. A resilient securing member secures the tooth to the adapter.
