The invention relates to a detection device () for detecting an arc (-) occurring between a first current-carrying element () and at least one conductive element (), comprising at least one measuring device (), which is designed to measure a current (I) flowing through the first current-carrying element (), and an analysis device () which is designed to determine a frequency spectrum of the measured current (I) and to detect the arc (-) occurring between the first current-carrying element () and the at least one conductive element () on the basis of a high-frequency range of the determined frequency spectrum.

An emergency energy supply device for providing an emergency energy supply for a hybrid vehicle includes a high-voltage battery for driving an electric drive and a low-voltage battery. A method is provided for starting an internal combustion engine of a vehicle having a hybrid drive which includes at least one electric drive to which a high-voltage battery is assigned. If the high-voltage battery is discharged, an on-board electrical system battery of the vehicle is connected to a pulse-controlled inverter which activates the at least one electric drive; the at least one electric drive is accelerated load-free to a maximum rotational speed achievable at the applied voltage; the pulse-controlled inverter is disconnected from the on-board electrical system battery; and a clutch is engaged between the at least one electric drive and the internal combustion engine.

An illumination unit for planar illumination is described. The illumination unit includes a light source and a waveguide plate, the waveguide plate being provided with mounting possibilities for the light source, various optical filters, electronics boards, and a liquid-crystal cell.

Lighting unit

A backlighting unit for planar and homogeneous illumination has a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp that is mounted one narrow side of a waveguide plate. The light emitted from the backlighting unit is emitted from one of the two large surfaces of the waveguide plate. The light is deflected from one narrow side to one large surface by prisms which are also mounted on one large surface. To homogenize the emitted light, the prisms are arranged in irregular fashion. Homogenization is advantageous in particular if an L-shaped or U-shaped lamp, which illuminates several narrow sides of the waveguide plate, is used as the lamp.
