The installation is for producing a coextruded profiled element for tires that is made from rubber compounds of different compositions. The installation includes at least one first extruder having a screw with a longitudinal axis and at least one second extruder having a screw with a different longitudinal axis. An extrusion head is connected to each of the extruders by appropriate ducts. The feed inlet of each extruder is connected to the delivery orifice of a gear pump.

Installation and method for coextrusion

The machine includes an extrusion head having flow ducts, the inlet orifices of which are connected to the outlets of at least two extruders for supplying extruded strips made of elastomeric compounds. The outlet orifices lead into a die which is adjacent to a roller and is designed to cooperate with the latter to shape the profiled element strip. The roller has a central axis surrounded by an external surface intended to receive the profiled element strip and a means for driving the roller in rotation about its central axis. The flow ducts are mutually parallel and are perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the roller, and the profiled element strip is joined to the receiving surface of the roller along an equivalent length of at least 700 mm.

Coextrusion machine for elastomeric compounds, and method for manufacturing a profiled element strip

The facility for manufacturing a profile strip made from several elastomer mixtures with different compositions by coextrusion includes at least two extruders which feed elastomer mixtures to an extrusion head. The extruders discharge directly into the extrusion head, which is interchangeable and groups together all of the dimensional tooling.

An installation for producing a profiled band based on several mixtures of elastomers of a different composition by means of coextrusion. The installation includes at least two extruders for supplying a mixture of elastomers to an extrusion head. The extrusion head comprises an assembly of at least two plates which are arranged side by side. Each plate having at least one cavity which enables the mixture from an extruder to be chaneled towards an outlet hole. An extrusion apparatus intended for the manufacture of a coextruded profiled element P for tyres, produced from rubber compounds of various compositions, comprises a profiling device () arranged at the outlet of at least two flow channels () for rubbery compounds of different composition. The said channels receive the compounds from positive-displacement contrarotating twin-screw extruders (), the screw flights interpenetrating and having conjugated profiles.

Apparatus and method for extruding rubber mixtures

A screw having a longitudinal body and, around this longitudinal body, at least one flight extending in the shape of a helix, the flight including, over part of its length, internal partitioning delimiting a plurality of internal channels that extend in the shape of helices following the helix shape of the flight. In a multi-strand steel cable, at least three layers are present. An inner layer includes from 1 to 4 wires. An intermediate layer surrounds the inner layer and includes from 3 to 12 wires wound together in a helix at a pitch p.
