A gripping device for retaining a cable includes a base, two opposed gripping arms projecting from the base towards respective end portions along an insertion direction and mutually spaced apart along a transversal direction perpendicular to the insertion direction. The gripping arms include retaining portions configured to receive the cable therebetween and insertion portions configured to allow insertion of the cable towards the retaining portions. The gripping device includes first protrusions projecting from the retaining portions, extending along a first direction angled with respect to the insertion direction and configured to act on the cable to retain the cable between the retaining portions. The gripping device includes second protrusions projecting from the insertion portions and extending along a second direction angled with respect to the insertion direction, where each of the second protrusions being tapered along the insertion direction towards the respective end portion.

The user module and the operator module are structurally independent from each other and the external communication network is operatively associated with the user network by means of a connection of the connectors of the fiber optic connection elements with respective selected adapters of the user module.

A method for installing an optical fiber unit in a protective tube housing a pulling rope includes the steps of: providing a mini tube having a longitudinal opening from end to end; transversally inserting a portion of the pulling rope in the longitudinal opening; contacting the pulling rope and optical fiber unit over a predetermined length; slipping the mini tube over at least a portion of the contacting length of the pulling rope and optical fiber unit; crimping the mini tube around the pulling rope and optical fiber unit; and drawing the optical fiber unit through the protective tube by pulling the pulling rope.

Method for installing an optical fibre unit in a tube

An optical termination assembly may include an optical termination box and a drop cable. The drop cable may have a first end housed in a first compartment of the optical termination box. The first end of the drop cable may be pre-connectorized. The optical termination box may include at least one first fixing element accessible from an outside of the optical termination box suitable for fixing the optical termination box to a support structure. An optical termination assembly may include an optical termination box and a drop cable including a plurality of optical fibers. The drop cable may have a first end housed in a first compartment of the optical termination box. At the first end of the drop cable, each of the plurality of optical fibers may be connected to a respective optical connector. A microbundle optical cable such as, a riser cable, includes an outer jacket and a plurality of microbundles housed in the outer jacket. At least one of the microbundles includes an optical fiber ribbon enclosed in a microbundle coating. The at least one microbundle includes a longitudinal axis and a cross-section taken on a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cross-section may include a first dimension and a second dimension. The first dimension is higher than the second dimension. Therefore, the cross-section shape is an elongated cross shape.

A method for connecting user devices to optical fiber units contained in an optical cable includes: providing an opening in a sheath of the optical cable to access the optical fiber units contained in the optical cable; extracting a segment of at least one optical fiber unit from the optical cable through the opening; inserting a free end of the extracted segment of optical fiber unit into a protection tube; making the protection tube slide on the extracted segment of optical fiber unit to insert an end portion of the protection tube, distal from the free end of the extract segment of the optical fiber unit, into the optical cable through the opening; positioning a closure element on the optical cable in correspondence of the opening so as to substantially realize a closure thereof; securing in a removable way the closure element to the optical cable and bringing the free end of the extracted segment of optical fiber unit in correspondence of a connection point of a user device.

Method of connecting user devices to optical fibre units contained in an optical cable

A modular system for the connection of an external communication network to a user network of a building includes: at least one user module including: i) at least one passage opening of a connection cable of the user network including a plurality of optical fibers associated with respective users and ii) a plurality of adapters associated with respective optical fibers of the connection cable of the user network, and at least one operator module including: i) at least one inlet opening of at least one connection cable to the external communication network including a plurality of optical fibers and ii) at least one outlet opening of a plurality of fiber optic connection elements connected to the external communication network and provided with a connector at a terminal end thereof. The user module and the operator module are structurally independent from each other and the external communication network is operatively associated with the user network by means of a connection of the connectors of the fiber optic connection elements with respective selected adapters of the user module.

An assembly for installing an optical access network includes at least one in-line optical cable and a drop cable. The assembly includes a duct suitable for housing the at least one in-line optical cable and an optical transition box for snaking an optical connection between the at least one in-line optical cable and the drop cable. The duct has a window. The optical transition box has a base with two sidewalls. Each of the two sidewalls has a first opening allowing the in-line optical cable to enter and exit the base. The base is suitable for being partially inserted in the duct through the window in such a way that, when the base is partially inserted in the duct, the first opening is contained within the duct.
