A modular power bay for an aircraft comprises a plurality of electric machines, a plurality of inverters, and a control member configured to assign to at least one machine one or more inverters, according to the operational requirements of the plurality of machines. The control member comprises: an observer, able to measure phase currents and phase-neutral voltages of an electrical power supply signal of the machine, an estimator, able to determine a rotor position, based on the measurements of at least one observer, means for communicating, to each of the inverters: a control instruction for each of the inverters for responding to the operational requirement of said machine, measurements of at least one observer, or of the estimated rotor position.

Modular inverter bay and control method for same for a set of electric machines with no position sensors

A method for controlling a starter-generator during a startup phase of a motor intended to be driven in rotation in a predetermined nominal direction by the starter-generator, the starter-generator comprises a stator comprising at least one polyphase stator winding and a rotor comprising at least one rotor winding coupled magnetically to the stator winding. The method comprises a step of starting up the motor, during which the polyphase stator winding and the rotor winding are supplied with electric power to start up the motor, the startup step preceded, when the motor is initially rotating in the direction opposite to the nominal direction, by a braking step, during which a current is drawn from at least one polyphase stator winding and the rotor winding is supplied with electric power.

Method for controlling a starter-generator

A vector control driving device is provided for an electric motor receiving an operating setpoint, with stator windings receiving a driving current and producing a rotating magnetic field, the windings generating a voltage at terminals of the motor, a rotor producing a magnetic field to follow the rotating magnetic field, the device generating current in a vector domain, and configured to carry out a transform of the current from the vector domain to a real domain allowing for generation of the driving current, and configured to carry out an inverse transform of a parameter measured in the real domain on the stator windings into a transform of the parameter in the vector domain, and comparing the value of the inverse transform of the parameter with a predefined maximum parameter value, which can drive the generating of the current in the vector domain. An automatic and adaptive defluxing method is provided.

A modular rack intended for an aircraft includes a set of electrical machines each equipped with a position sensor including inverters, a supervision member, a first communication channel to transmit to each of the inverters the inverter setpoint determined by the supervision member, and a second communication channel to transmit a position information item to each of the inverters, each of the inverters including a way to generate an electrical signal as a function of the inverter setpoint and of the position information transmitted by the supervision member. The first and second communication channels include a single link for the supervision member and the inverters, and transmitting both the inverter setpoints and the position information items.
