Elevator car ceiling access systems are provided. The elevator car ceiling access systems include an elevator car having a top and at least one elevator car door, an access panel located in a top of the elevator car, a car door operator, an access panel operator, and a selectively engageable coupling arranged between the car door operator and the access panel operator and arranged to selectively couple to the car door operator and the access panel operator to enable selective opening of the access panel.

Elevator car ceiling access system

Elevator systems and operating methods including an elevator operating panel having at least one button and an audio orientation system. The audio orientation system includes at least one speaker positioned proximate the elevator operating panel and a proximity sensor associated with an associated button and positioned proximate thereto, the proximity sensor arranged to generate a button detection zone around the associated button and detect a presence within the button detection zone. When a detection is made by the proximity sensor regarding a presence with the button detection zone, the audio system controls the at least one speaker to generate an audio orientation signal comprising button information that is related to the associated button within the button detection zone.

Hand detection for elevator operation

Elevator systems having an elevator car having a first elevator car door and an audio orientation system. The audio orientation system includes an audio system controller, at least one first speaker positioned proximate the first elevator car door, and at least one second speaker positioned in the elevator car opposite the first elevator car door. When the first elevator car door opens, the audio system controller controls the at least one first speaker and the at least one second speaker such that an audio orientation output is generated at at least one of the speakers to indicate that the first elevator car door is open.
