Provided are techniques for a secure IaC solution for deploying cloud resources. A signed Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution is received. A policy check is performed to determine that the signed IaC solution conforms to one or more policies. An automated validation of the signed IaC solution is performed to check for one or more compliance or security issues. A signature check of the signed IaC solution is performed to determine that the signed IaC solution has not been tampered with. It is determined that the signed IaC solution is authorized to be deployed by checking a trusted profile. The signed IaC solution is executed to deploy cloud resources.

Secure infrastructure as code (IAC) solution for deploying cloud resources

A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, includes: generating a proxy automation on a multi-tenant infrastructure using an application onboarding automation. A new automation configured is also generated to adjust settings of the application onboarding automation based on inputs received in response to running the proxy automation, and inputs are received in response to the proxy automation being run for an application. The received inputs and the new automation are used to adjust settings of the application onboarding automation. Furthermore, the application is implemented on the multi-tenant infrastructure by performing the adjusted application onboarding automation at the multi-tenant infrastructure.

Proxy automations for multi-tenant infrastructures

Mechanisms are provided for promulgating modifications to resources to client devices. A resource is modified and, in response, a new reference to the modified resource is generated along with a mapping that maps a previous reference, prior to the modification, to the new reference of the modified resource. The mapping and interceptor code are injected into an index file of content referencing the resource. The interceptor code intercepts requests referencing the resource and uses the mapping to modify the requests to use the new reference. In response to receiving a request for the content from a client, the index file is transmitted to the client to execute the interceptor code and process references to the resource, in the content, by modifying the references to the resource to direct the retrieval of the resource to the modified resource according to the new reference specified in the mapping data structure.

Automated caching and cache busting

A computer-implemented method includes receiving a request for access to a micro-service for a subject to perform an action using a resource; determining whether an access policy governing the access for the subject to perform the action using the resource is stored in a cache memory; in response to the access policy being stored in the cache memory, allowing or denying the request based on the access policy; in response to the access policy not being stored in the cache memory, requesting a new access policy for the subject to perform the action using the resource; receiving the new access policy including an access decision and a duration of the new access policy; allowing or denying the request based on the new access policy; and storing the new access policy in the cache memory.

High performance access control

A computer program product including a computer readable storage medium having program instructions to: receive a request for access to a micro-service for a subject to perform an action using a resource; determine whether an access policy governing the access for the subject to perform the action using the resource is stored in a cache memory; in response to the access policy being stored in the cache memory, allow or deny the request to the micro-service based on the access policy; and in response to the access policy not being stored in the cache memory, request a new access policy for the subject to perform the action using the resource, receive the new access policy that includes an access decision and a duration of the new access policy, allow or deny the request based on the new access policy, and store the new access policy in the cache memory.

References between three dimensional computer-generated virtual environments may be used to enable objects, activities, and Avatars to move between and within multiple virtual environments hosted by multiple different virtual environment servers/server systems. Links may be used to reference particular locations and orientations within target virtual environments. Vistas may also be created to allow a view into a target virtual environment to be presented to a user in a resident virtual environment. Links and vistas may be combined to create portals, whereby a user may be presented with a view of a target virtual environment in the resident virtual environment. The view of the target virtual environment may be caused to change as the user approaches the vista or moves relative to the vista to make it appear like the user is seeing into the target virtual environment. If the user goes through the vista the link may transport the user into the target virtual environment.

Method and apparatus for referencing between three dimensional computer-generated virtual environments

Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for performing incremental software installations. The system identifies a set of files associated with one or more software programs. Each file can be a component of a software program, or any file accessed by the software program or system when the software program is executed. The system receives a list of files associated with a software version that is not installed on the system. The system determines the differences between the set of files and the list of files, and receives a missing file from the list of files based on the differences. Finally, the system builds the software version on the system using the set of files and the missing file. In building the software version, the system does not assume a linear progression of updates and is able to reuse existing files to create nonlinear variations of software.

System and method for incremental software installation

Each person to a communication session records their contributions to the communication session. Metadata is maintained for each contribution to identify the time of the contribution and any other useful information to enable the content of the contribution to be accessed at a later point in time. When a portion of the communication session is to be recreated, the people involved in the communication session are requested to provide their contributions for a particular period of time or all contributions associated with a particular topic. Users will then select and forward previously recorded contributions that they are willing to have included in the recreation. By collecting contributions from the individuals involved in the communication session, the intended portion of the communication session may be recreated. Since each person is recording their own contribution to the communication session, no explicit permission is required to record the conversation.

Method and apparatus for reconstructing a communication session

A directory maintains a record of where a user is located within a plurality of virtual environments. As the user moves within a virtual environment or between virtual environments the user's location is updated in the directory. The user (invitation sender) may send invitations to other users (invitation recipients) to meet the user at a particular time. The invitation may be implemented as a URI which may be sent by Instant Message, E-mail, chat, etc. When an invitation recipient clicks on the URI to accept the invitation, the invitation will be validated and, if valid, enable the invitation recipient to move to the current location of the invitation sender. Invitations may be to meet the invitation sender or to follow the invitation sender. Where the invitation is to follow the invitation sender, a group may be formed that can move within and between virtual environments.

Method and apparatus for enabling people to find each other and stay together in virtual environments

A method and system for creating a topic-based 3D virtual environment. The inventive method and system provides a 3D virtual environment that includes images, scenery, and content that relate to the topic of discussion in the virtual environment. If the virtual 'meeting' should be adjourned or ended, the system saves the data, discussions that occurred during the meeting, and all the scenery and content related to the virtual meeting so that the meeting can be continued with all of the content and imagery in place. A virtual environment template containing this information is loaded and used for subsequent virtual meetings discussing the same topic.

Method and system for topic based virtual environments and expertise detection

A virtual environment server records and broadcasts a Uniform Resource Locator (URL), browser state information, and optionally clipping parameters, that are to be associated with a three dimensional (3D) surface in a virtual environment. When a user's Avatar encounters the 3D surface in the virtual environment, the client obtains the URL and browser state information, and obtains the web content using a standard web browser. The web content is stored into an off-screen buffer. The content from the off-screen buffer is then rendered locally as a texture map onto the 3D surface of the virtual environment. Whenever one of the users interacts with the web content, a new URL and new browser state information is used to obtain the updated web content in the same way. The new URL and new browser state information is also passed from the client to the server, so that the server may update the URL and new browser state information in each of the other clients associated with each of the other users.

Inclusion of web content in a virtual environment

Users create profiles containing their interests, professional qualifications, and/or personal information. When users encounter each other in the virtual environment, the information contained in the personal profiles is used to provide visual indications of the profile information so that other users know some modicum of information about the user associated with the Avatar. The user associated with the personal profile may control what information is provided publicly and what information is provided privately. Information in other users' profiles may be filtered to enable relevant information to be presented to the user. Filtering may be explicit and based on user-defined criteria. Filtering may be inherent as well and implemented to select visual indications based on similarities between the user's profile information and the other users' profile information. Inherent matching of attributes may be exact, based on pre-defined similarities or groups, or based on learned similarities between types of attributes, or based on previous interactions of the user with other users in the virtual environment.

Visual indication of user interests in a computer-generated virtual environment

A handheld electronic device includes one or more networking applications that enables the handheld electronic devices to be used as a networking device. The networking application monitors the types of contact that the user has with individuals, the frequency of contact, and type of contact, to infer the closeness of the relationships between the user and the contact. The networking application may monitor not only network based contact, but also physical contact between the two individuals. Knowledge of the closeness level may enable the handheld electronic device to classify contacts, so that different contacts may be handled differently by the handheld electronic device. The closeness level may also be used to alert the user to the presence of people that are close contacts. An anonymizing service may be provided to enable communications between people without requiring them to exchange sensitive personal information until the closeness level reaches a particular threshold.

Method and apparatus for managing business and social contacts

Information may be provided to a telephony customer from an overlay service by causing a second stream of audio information to be overlayed on a primary stream of audio information. The overlayed information may be whispered to the user by causing the overlayed information to be compressed into a limited frequency spectrum which is inserted into a manufactured gap in the primary audio stream. This allows the user to continue to hear the main audio stream while also hearing the overlayed information. The overlay service may provide administrative information, advertisements, music, and/or Internet search results via the overlayed audio. Users may issue commands to the overlay service, to have particular information transmitted via overlayed audio. Where the user is also associated with a telephony application running on a computer platform, the overlayed information may be incorporated onto the information being shown to the user on a computer display.

Method and apparatus for overlaying whispered audio onto a telephone call

Information URLs may be associated with three dimensional objects in a three dimensional virtual environment. When a URL is selected, an overlay web rendering engine renders a web page associated with the URL over the object in the three dimensional virtual environment. The web page may include rich content, interactive content, or any other type of web content supported by the user's local browser and browser plugging. The user may interact with the content in the overlay web rendering engine to obtain successive layers of content or to affect the object in the virtual environment. The web page is rendered with a transparent background so that the three dimensional content of the virtual environment continues to be visible through the web page and provides context for the overlayed content. Information URLs may be used to provide information about objects, Avatars, or the virtual environment itself.
