A holding apparatus for the vertebra of a spinal column. It furthermore has a mount for a bar which is provided at the side of the holding apparatus which faces away from a clamping screw. The clamping screw of the holding apparatus produces a rigid connection of the holding apparatus to the bar which is located in the mount. The apparatus retains the bar in the mount and can be brought into connection with the holding apparatus so as to temporarily retain in the mount a bar which is introduced into the mount until the holding apparatus is fixed to the bar by way of a rigid connection.

Holding apparatus for the spinal column

An intervertebral implant ( ) with a hollow cylindrical shape is provided with an outer thread ( ) for screwing the implant into the intermediate space between two adjacent vertebrae. The implant ( ) is provided with openings ( ) in its wall through which bone can grow into the implant ( ), with the implant ( ) being manufactured of a material which is transparent for X-rays.

Intervertebral implant

The basket-like container ( ) contains a reception volume for bone tissue. After the filling in of the bone tissue the container is implanted. The reception volume is located within a wall ( ) which is arranged about an axis ( ). This peripheral wall consists of a grid, a fabric or a mesh. Transversely to the axis the wall enables an X-ray optical seeing through of the unfilled reception volume. The surface component, which is permeable by X-rays, amounts to at least 30%.

Basket-like container for implanting bone tissue

With the invention, tubular support bodies for bridging two adjacent vertebrae are shown. Two cages (,) which are placed one within the other are provided with cut-outs, and each of them has a support flange (,) at the outer end face (,). A first cage (,) has at least three radially projecting protrusions (,) at its jacket (,) which can be introduced into three axially extending lead-in channels (,) or a multiple thereof in the jacket (,) of the other cage (,) in order to be able to reach latch-in positions (,) of different depths.

Tubular support body for bridging two vertebrae

With the invention a pivotal securing system between a bone screw (1) with a spherical head part (2) and a reception part (3) is shown. The reception part has a passage bore (4) with a shoulder at its end which encloses the head part (2) at its lower side and which forms an abutment when the head part (2) is pressed on by the clamping screw (7) in a settable pivotal position (8). The head part (2) is executed as a separate part (9) which can be screwed together with the bone screw (1) in order to be able to place on the reception part (3) and to connect it to the latter after the implantation of the bone screw (1).
