The present invention relates to a method of producing thick-walled brushes, in particular toothbrushes, with a grip piece and a brush head supporting bristle filaments. In order to increase the productivity, the method mentioned at the start is further developed by the present invention in that a core produced in a first injection molding cycle is coated with a plastic component in at least one subsequent injection molding cycle so as to form a multi-layered grip piece.

Method of producing thick-walled brushes, in particular toothbrushes

A method for producing toothbrushes by way of injection molding is provided, wherein a brush body is formed in a mold cavity, bristle filaments are connected to the brush body for forming bristles, and at least one flexible element extending substantially in parallel with the bristle filaments is preferably formed by injection onto the brush body. The contouring and/or finishing of the bristle filaments can be carried out without any impairment by the flexible cleaning elements. During the finishing operation, the flexible cleaning element is removed from the operative area of the finishing tool.

Method for producing brushes and apparatus for performing said method

The present invention relates to a brush, in particular a toothbrush, comprising a brush body carrying cleaning elements and a perforated plate through which the cleaning elements are projecting. A brush which is improved in terms of hygiene is created by the present invention in that the cleaning elements are arranged on a bristle carrier which is in threaded engagement with the brush body, and that the perforated plate is rotatably held on the brush body. Furthermore, the present invention suggests a bristle insert as a replacement part for said brush.
