A steering mechanism for simulating a haptic feedback steering sensation includes a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel. An angle measuring device is arranged on the steering shaft and measures a rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel the steering mechanism further includes an electric motor arranged in a coaxial manner with respect to the steering shaft. The electric motor is configured to apply a torque to the steering shaft. The direction of rotation of the torque applied by the electric motor is usually oriented in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel. Furthermore, the magnitude of the torque is dependent upon the value of the rotation angle and upon the vehicle model that is used as a basis. The electric motor is connected to the steering shaft via a torsionally elastic coupling.

Steering mechanism with haptic feedback

A power assist device for supporting steering of a motor vehicle includes a steering column shaft and a housing. The shaft has a rotor and the housing has a stator. The stator is arranged in the radial direction with respect to the rotor. The rotor is a disk, and at least one magnet is arranged on the radially outer edge of said rotor.

Steering assist apparatus for a motor vehicle

A gear unit for a motor vehicle including a rotatable worm gear shaft rotating about a rotation axis and cooperating with a worm gear wheel in an engagement region spaced from the rotation axis. A pivotable rotary bearing mounts the worm gear shaft on a housing on one side of the engagement region and a loose rotary bearing, pretensioned in the direction of the spacing axis, mounts the other side in the housing. A support device supports the pivotable rotary bearing on the housing in the direction of the rotation axis. To optimize engagement between a worm gear shaft and a worm gear wheel, the pivotable rotary bearing pivots relative to the housing about a pivot axis perpendicular to the rotation axis and to the spacing axis. A support point of the support device is offset relative to the rotation axis along the spacing axis towards the engagement region.

Gear unit for motor vehicle

The invention relates to a hydraulically supported steering system with a steering gear, which is driven by a hydraulic piston/cylinder unit. The steering system includes a piston. The piston is axially displaced in a cylinder and divides the cylinder into two cylinder chambers. Each cylinder chamber is connected to a separate hydraulic line that serves both as pressure supply line and as return line. The hydraulic lines are also connected to a servo valve. A throttle mechanism, which features a variable flow resistance in at least one flow direction is arranged in at least one hydraulic line. The flow of hydraulic fluid through the self-regulating throttle mechanism determines the flow resistance in this flow direction, namely a higher flow resistance will occur at low flow and lower flow resistance at high flow.
