In order to be able to carry out a multiplicity of continuously recurring activities at a continuous casting plant having at least one multifunction robot for implementing a plurality of different process-controlled or automated interventions at the continuous casting plant, at least one working region at the continuous casting plant and at least one multifunction robot assigned to each working region. The multifunction robot is arranged on a pivotable arm at a rotary column fastened to the pouring platform of the continuous casting plant and the robot can be pivoted with the pivot arm between a retraction position and a working position. The robot is also movable with respect to its arm.

Continuous casting plant having at least one multifunction robot

A bending device for two working rolls of a rolling stand. Guide blocks provided in lateral roll housings for guiding two pressure-transmission bodies vertically adjustably with respect to each other and, on which the working rolls are supported via chocks. Bending cylinders are arranged in pairs between the pressure-transmission bodies at each end of the rolls. Each cylinder has a piston rod acting on one pressure-transmission body and a cylinder at the respective other pressure-transmission body. Each pressure-transmission body is supported on a respective guide block in a sliding manner. So that loads acting on the pressure-transmission bodies can be introduced into the guide block free of edge pressure, the pressure-transmission bodies are supported on the respective guide blocks in a sliding manner by self-adjusting wearing plates which include surfaces that enable both sliding and pivoting of the bodies with respect to the guide blocks.

Bending device for two working rolls of a rolling stand

A process and apparatus for producing a metal strip using a two-roller casting device formed by two oppositely rotating casting rollers with parallel casting-roller axes and two side plates which bear against end sides of the casting rollers. The metal melt is conveyed out of the casting gap formed by the casting rollers as an at least partially solidified metal strip. To improve the sealing of the melt pool at the start of casting and in the event of parasitic solidifications passing through the casing gap, the side plates during a first time interval are moved onto the end sides of the casting rollers in a first direction of movement parallel to the casting-roller axes, and the side plates during a second time interval, are moved onto a portion of the lateral surfaces of the casting rollers in a second direction of movement parallel to the casting direction in the casting gap.

Method for producing a metal strip using a two-roller casting device

A casting wheel for the continuous casting of strips of metal has a core and sleeve of heat-conductive material which is shrunk on the core, and circumferential cooling ducts arranged between the core and the sleeve, which are connected with coolant supply line and coolant discharge line. The coolant is guided from the radially extending supply line into cooling ducts and from cooling ducts into the radially extending discharge line by means of a guiding element that can be inserted in cooling ducts.

Continuous casting plant for continuous casting of thin strip and method therefor

With known strand guides, the adjustment of different strand thicknesses involves cumbersome manipulations and the susceptibility to failures of the elements allowing for such adjustment. In order to eliminate such disadvantages, the framework parts of the strand guide rest one above the other by supports and counter supports equipped with supporting surfaces provided at different high levels and with counter supporting surfaces, respectively. In addition to the support and counter support, a rotary bushing having a helicoidal supporting surface is arranged in series to each support and counter support. An abutment allocated to one of the framework parts is supported on the rotary bushing.

Strand guide arrangement provided at a continuous casting plant

A supporting arrangement for casting ladles includes a stationarily mounted permanent base and a rotary base rotatably mounted relative to the permanent base. To each rotary base, a supporting bracket system is hinged via a linkage parallelogram system including pivotable guiding rods. Each supporting bracket system is liftable and lowerableby a pressure medium cylinder. In order to reduce the weight of the supporting arrangement and to facilitate any repair work to be done at the pressure medium cylinder, the supporting bracket system is composed of two independent supporting brackets, each supporting bracket independently being hinged to a lower and an upper guiding rod of the linkage parallelogram system. The upper guiding rods of the linkage parallelogram system, on their ends facing away from the rotary base, are united by a cross beam to a rigid unit U-shaped in ground plan. The cross beam is supported on the pressure medium cylinder by a swivel arranged in alignment with the hinges of the upper guiding rods, which hinges are arranged on the ends facing away from the rotary base.
