A method for the contact-free measurement of the distance of an object according to the principle of laser triangulation, in which a laser beam is directed onto the measuring object and the illuminated region is so imaged on a line-like sensor with prior-arranged optics, which is arranged laterally next to the laser, that the position of the image on the sensor changes with the distance of the measuring object and from the distance of the image from the laser a distance signal is obtained, wherein at least one laser projects a line onto the measuring object and the light plane of the laser line and the observation plane of the line-like sensor form an angle and intersect in a parallax-free cross.

A targeting device for the straight-lined introduction of an instrument into a preferably human body with a movable light source for producing a projection in the targeting direction of the instrument. The piercing location and the directional angle of the piercing is evaluated with the help of a computer tomograph and the piercing location may be marked by a deposit, with a carriage which is traversable along a horizontal guide above the gantry of a computer tomograph and which can be fastened at any point on the horizontal guide. A laser light source is pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis, with an angular scale for indicating the horizontal pivoting angle of the laser light source, the vertical guide is arranged on the first carriage and the second carriage is traversable along the vertical guide and can be fastened at any point on the vertical guide. The laser light source is mounted on the second carriage and is also pivotable about a vertical axis and can be fastened at any pivoting angle. A second angular scale indicates the vertical pivoting angle.

The invention relates to a target apparatus for linearly inserting an instrument into a human body comprising a computer tomograph for determining the piercing spot and marking it, the improvement comprising: a slide which is adjustably guided above the gantry of the computer tomograph along a horizontal guide means, preferably along a transversal plane, which slide can be arrested in any position along the guide means, a laser device for producing a target mark in space, a supporting means for mounting the laser device to the slide for being pivoted about a horizontal axis such that the beam of the laser device is pivoted in a vertical plane and further comprising an angular scale attached to the slide for indicating the pivoting angle of the laser device.

An apparatus for positioning and marking a patient at a diagnostic apparatus, for example before and after being scanned in a computer tomograph, comprising at least four line lasers adapted to be displaced along an axis, two of said line lasers being arranged above the patient lying upon a displaceable bed so as to project a sagittal line and a transversal line onto the body of the patient and two of said line lasers being arranged laterally of the bed so as to project a line along the body axis laterally onto the body, numerically controlled drives for said line lasers for adjustment thereof transversely to the respective projected lines, position control means for said drives, and manually operable input means for said control means for entering coordinates related to the position and extent of an area to be irradiated and determined by the computer tomograph.
