A waterless-toilet liner has a seat panel adapted to lie atop a waterless-toilet seat and formed with a central hole of a size and shape generally corresponding to a size and shape of the hole of the seat, and a bag having an upper rim secured to the seat panel around the hole therein. This liner is made by first advancing a foil tube to a first work station and forming a cross-seam and cut in the foil tube-to cut therefrom a bag having an open end. Then the open end of the bag is fitted between a pair of foil sheet. An opening is cut through the foil sheets and open end of the bag and the edges of the bag at the opening and there adjacent are bonded to the foil sheets. Then the foil sheets are cut through or perforated downstream of the bag.

Method of making a liner bag for waterless toilet

Devices for cross-welding or cross-separating welding plastic films () are used in a manner known per se in machines for producing bags, said devices comprising a welding roller () and a heated welder terminal () which can be moved reciprocally and between which the plastic films () are guided for welding. According to the invention, the welding roller () is covered by a continuous belt ().

Foil bags are formed as new paper bags by fusing together two webs and tying a detachable strap which has a suspension opening to one said opening of each bag, the strap being separated by a perforation line from the respective side of the bag. A pocket is formed at the end of the bag opposite the insertion opening and can have a flap provided with an adhesive strip covered by a masking layer.

Foil bag stacks, and method and device for producing such bags

A stack of plastic foil bags has a flap projecting beyond a filling opening on one broad side of the each bag which has a corner region delimited by perforations and formed in the corner region with at least one interlocking point for joining the bags in the stack and a stack-incorporation means separate from the interlocking point and enabling assembly of the bags into the stack.

A method of making multiwall plastic bags wherein half-width foil webs are unwound from respective rolls below a segment of a path within which a multilayer full-width web is guided. The half-width webs can be slit and unfolded or simply unfolded to form full-width single-layer webs which are combined by superimposition to form the multilayer full-width web. The latter is folded and the folded multilayer width is formed into the bags.

Method of producing mutliwall plastic bags, especially tie bags

A stack of flexible bags oriented horizontally in a stack station is packaged by first sliding a robot hand horizontally into position around an end portion of the stack with front and rear grabs of the hand aligned with edges of the end portion and another portion of the stack wholly outside the hand. Then the grabs are closed on the edges of the end portion with the front grab positioned inward of the stack from the back grab and the hand is raised and pivoted about a horizontal axis to fold the gripped stack about a fold line adjacent the front grab and to one side of which lies the gripped portion and to the other side of which lies the other portion so that the bag is given a downwardly open U-shape. The back grab is then released and reengaged around the folded stack to press the other portion against the end portion still gripped by the front grab. Then the hand is pivoted into a position with the folded and gripped stack oriented horizontally and the folded and gripped stack is positioned in an upwardly open container. The grabs are released and the hand is lifted out of the container to leave the folded stack therein.

Bag-boxing apparatus and method

A method of packaging plastic bags, particularly bags for automated machines, in stacks held together by wire brackets in a transport container such as a cardboard box. For the purpose of simple and speedy handling, the bag stacks are deposited in the transport container with outwardly pointing wire bracket legs, so that the bag packages can be deposited in the cardboard enclosure and removed from the same without problems, preferably automatically.

A method of and an apparatus for producing stacks of bags where, instead of connecting the position of the foil web, a marking on the foil web is detected and used to correct the positions of the devices which operate on the web. These devices can include a cutter for removing a strip from the upper layer of the flattened blown tubular web, the punch for punching holes in the lower layer, and the device for infolding are among the devices controlled in response to the marking. The latter can be printed on the web as it is unrolled or formed during the extrusion or foil blowing process.

An apparatus for making bags out of a thermoplastic web has a transport unit for feeding a leading end of the web in a transport direction to a cutting/welding station, tools at the station for transversely welding the web and cutting a bag from the leading end of the web, and a device downstream in the direction from the station for stacking and blocking bags cut from the web. A bag-pulling device between the station and the stacker/blocker has an endless drive strand having a pair of stretches extending vertically across a path of the bag between the station and the stacker/blocker and respective horizontally extending deflector rollers carried on the stretches, vertically displaceable therewith, each extending along a respective axis, and each having an outer surface engageable with the web and freely rotatable about the respective axis. A drive can oppositely displace the stretches of the strands and thereby bring the surfaces of the rollers into engagement with opposite faces of the bag so that the bag rolls off the surfaces as the rollers are oppositely displaced without substantial relative movement between the bag and the surface.
