An adsorption unit for combustion gas of an internal combustion engine has an adsorption housing having a chamber section with an inner wall. An adsorption element disposed in the adsorption housing is made of a gas-permeable adsorption medium that is formed to a hollow body and encloses an interior of the adsorption element. The hollow body has opposed open ends. A main flow passage extends through the hollow body and the combustion gas flows in main flow direction through the hollow body. The adsorption element has an exterior circumferential side facing away from the interior and delimiting together with the inner wall of the chamber section a bypass chamber surrounding the absorption element outwardly. In the main flow direction, the bypass chamber has a downstream end that is closed off and an upstream end that has at least one bypass opening that communicates with the main flow passage.

An intake module () for an internal combustion engine including a plurality of intake tracts () in each of which two intake pipe openings () are formed. One of the intake pipe openings () in each intake tract has a constant cross section, and the second intake pipe opening has a flow cross section which can be varied depending on the operating mode of the engine. The two intake pipe openings in each intake tract are separated from each other by a partition () which is inserted into a housing () in which the intake tracts () are formed, and a movable component () is mounted on each of the partitions () for varying the flow cross section of the second intake pipe opening () of the respective intake tract.

A switching unit for closing inlet passages in an air intake system having a plurality of inlet passages arranged side by side in an internal combustion engine. The switching unit comprises one switched and one unswitched flow cross section for each cylinder of the internal combustion engine, flap valves and a shaft The switched flow cross sections can be closed and opened by flap valves which are operated with the shaft which is outside of the unswitched flow cross sections.

An intake assembly for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine which has at least first and second intake ducts of different lengths for each cylinder which proceed from an intake distributor and converge shortly before an intake valve. The shorter second intake duct is provided with a shut-off device formed by a control shaft which extends along the whole length of the laterally adjacent second individual intake ducts and at least one end of which is mounted in a radially freely movable manner.
