A system () for connecting mounting rails comprises a base member () and an angular attachment member (). The base member () has an opening () in at least one lateral wall (or) for passage therethrough of a bolt (). The openings () are each provided with a collar (), which can be brought into engagement with the opening () in the attachment member (). The collar () has at least in an axial region a conical section () shaped as a clamping cone. At the time of tightening the bolt, a form- and force-locking connection between the base member () and the attachment member () is created.
