Sensors positioned in power transmission systems with tubular enclosures have radio interrogation capabilities. The radio antenna assigned to a sensor is a planar antenna with a radiating element and a conductive baseplate, with the radiating element being designed as a reed that is provided in a self-supporting manner in a recess in the baseplate and is short-circuited to the baseplate at one end. This forms a quarter-wave antenna which can be tuned by using a metal resonating member with a U-shaped cross-section and can be combined with a surface-wave sensor.

A compressed gas insulated high voltage line which has a metal encapsulation and supports the high voltage conductors on support insulators in which movability of the conductor in the axial direction relative to the encapsulation is provided by means of at least two parallel, sliding guidance pins extending parallel to the axis of the high voltage conductor and the encapsulation. The pins are connected to one end of the support insulator and provide longitudinal movability for accommodating length changes of the high voltage conductor relative to the encapsulation under thermal stress.

An arrangement for testing metal-clad, high-voltage installations includes an equipment unit having a separate encapsulation for accommodating the apparatus for making the tests. The separate encapsulation can be flanged as a unit to the installation to be tested. The arrangement is particularly suited for detecting partial discharges in metal-clad, high-voltage installations which are filled with an insulating gas, such as sulfur hexafluoride.
