A steam turbine having a cooling option, in which steam is taken from the flow channel, the steam cooling the thrust-compensating intermediate floor, being mixed with a small amount of live steam and being returned to the flow channel. A method cools the steam turbine, wherein steam is extracted from the high-pressure region and is fed to a space between the thrust-compensating partition wall and inner casing, wherein steam from the space between the thrust-compensating partition wall and the inner casing is fed via a first cross feedback passage to the high-pressure region.

A turbomachine, in particular a steam turbine, has a shield and a coolant supply which causes cold intermediate superheater steam to flow onto the rotor, wherein additionally supply holes are arranged in the shield, which holes bring part of the hot inflow steam into the cooling region between the shield and the rotor, in order to thus improve mixing so as to raise the temperature of the rotor at this thermally loaded point, such that in the event of a fault (e.g., failure of the coolant line) the resulting change in temperature is moderate.

A method for detuning a rotor-blade cascade of a turbomachine having a plurality of rotor blades includes: a) establishing at least one target natural frequency for at least one vibration mode; b) setting up a value table having discrete mass values and radial center-of-gravity positions, and determining respective natural frequency; c) measuring the mass and radial center-of-gravity position of one of the rotor blades; d) determining an actual natural frequency by interpolating the measured mass and radial center-of-gravity position in the value table; e) if actual natural frequency is outside a tolerance around target natural frequency, selecting a value pair that at least approximates target natural frequency, and removing material from the rotor blade in such a way that mass and radial center-of-gravity position correspond to the value pair; f) repeating steps c) to e) until actual natural frequency is within the tolerance around target natural frequency.

A turbomachine component having a main body and a multilayer coating, which is applied directly to the main body is provided. The multilayer coating is at least 5 &#x3bc;m and at most 35 &#x3bc;m thick and has a plurality of layers applied directly one on top of the other, wherein the layer applied directly to the main body is an adhesion promoting layer, which comprises chromium nitride, and at least one of the remaining layers comprises a hard material.

Turbomachine component having a functional coating

A method for operating a gas and steam turbine system is provided. The system includes a frequency converter which is assigned to a starting device of a gas turbine, and a generator which is assigned to a steam turbine. The intention is to be able to obtain a particularly high level of operational flexibility with particularly low mechanical complexity. For this purpose, the electrical power of the generator is fed into a consumer system via the frequency converter.

The invention relates to a turbine blade with a cover plate shaped onto the pan of the blade. The aim of the invention is to provide a turbine blade of this type that, while having a high level of efficiency, is designed for a particularly reliable and safe operation in a turbine, particularly of a steam turbine. To this end, the invention provides that a protective layer made on an alternative material is applied to the surface of the cover plate facing away from the pan of the blade. The friction behavior with regard to a turbine component, particularly a sealing strip, which is opposite the protective layer, can be specifically influenced whereby enabling favorable emergency running properties to be provided in the event of rubbing.

A drive is embodied to drive a rotor at a variable rotational frequency; the rotor has a winding that is embodied to produce a rotary field magnetomotive force of a generator, with a rotor rotary field frequency which is variable in relation to the rotor; the frequency converter is electrically connected to the rotor winding; a regulating device comprises a recording element for measuring values of the generator, a calculating unit for a generator simulation, and a transmitter for transmitting a control signal to the frequency converter; and, on the basis of the control signal, an electrical excitation of the rotor winding can be triggered by the frequency converter in such a way that a pre-determined stator rotary field frequency is present in the event of a variable rotational frequency of the rotor and a variable rotor rotary field frequency.
