The present disclosure is directed to edible organogel compositions that comprise an organogelator and a flavor component, and processes for preparing the organogel compositions. The organogel compositions may be included as the flavor component in confectionery products, such as chewing gums.

Organogel compositions and their use as a controlled delivery system in confectionery products

The present disclosure is directed to confectionery products, such as compressed mint tablets, that comprise menthol and eucalyptol. In certain embodiments, the menthol is encapsulated. The confectionery products deliver a strong initial cooling impact, and have extended storage stability in high humidity environments.

The present disclosure is directed to edible organogel compositions that comprise an organogelator and a flavor component, and processes for preparing the organogel compositions. The organogelator is ethyl cellulose or a combination of ethyl cellulose and an edible wax, preferably candelilla wax, rice bran wax, carnauba wax, paraffin, beeswax, polyethylene wax or combinations thereof. The ethyl cellulose preferably has an average ethoxyl content of from 45.0% to 47.0% by weight of the ethyl cellulose or from 48.0% to 49.5% by weight of the ethyl cellulose. The organogel compositions may be included as the flavor component in confectionery products, such as chewing gums.

A chewing gum comprises a primary chewing gum composition comprising gum base, a sweetener and a flavoring agent and a food acceptable delayed-release modification agent. The delayed-release modification agent reacts with the primary chewing gum composition after a chewed cud of the gum composition is formed, causing the primary gum to exhibit increased environmental acceptability after the chewed cud is discarded.

A composition includes a first component containing phospholipids and a second component encapsulating the first component. The composition includes between about 10% and about 80% by weight phospholipids. The composition may be used in chewing gum to provide a gum cud that does not adhere to concrete and does not dissolve in the mouth while chewing.

A chewing gum composition comprises about 5% to about 95% gum base, about 5% to about 96% bulking and sweetening agents, and about 0.1% to about 15% flavor, wherein at least part of the flavor is a flavor encapsulated in a matrix comprising about 30% to about 60% acacia gum, about 30% to about 60% corn syrup solids having a DE of between about 2.4 and about 44, and about 2% to about 20% gelatin, with the acacia gum and corn syrup solids together comprising at least 80% of the matrix.
