Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to audio and video synchronization. According to one aspect disclosed herein, an audio-video ('AV') synchronization system can simultaneously capture samples of a pre-encode media stream and a post-encode media stream. The pre-encode media stream can include AV content prior to being encoded. The post-encode media stream can include the AV content after being encoded. The AV synchronization system can align a pre-encode video component of the pre-encode media stream with a post-encode video component and can determine a video offset therebetween. The AV synchronization system can align a pre-encode audio component of the pre-encode media stream with a post-encode audio component of the post-encode media stream and can determine an audio offset therebetween. The AV synchronization system can then compare the video offset and the audio offset to determine if the post-encode media stream is synchronized with the pre-encode media stream.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, including, for each configuration of a client device of a media content service, accessing a headend of the media content service, and for each media content item of a plurality of media content items accessible via the headend of the media content service, receiving a media content identifier associated with the media content item, sending the media content identifier to an advertising server, receiving, from the advertising server, a set of advertising items associated with the media content identifier, where each advertising item of the set of advertising items includes advertising locator information, and aggregating the set of advertising locator information associated with the media content identifier to generate a plurality of advertising locators associated with the plurality of media content items, and, in turn, storing the plurality of advertising locators associated with the plurality of media content items accessible via the headend of the media content service according to the configuration of the client device as a manifest of advertising items for the configuration of the client device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Method and apparatus for managing data subsidies in a communication system

In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for discovering and tracking uniform resource locators (URLs) for the purposes of managing sponsored data. For instance, in one example, a method includes monitoring a request for a stream of data delivered to a user endpoint device via a content distribution network, wherein the stream of data is accessed via a digital content distribution application running on the user endpoint device, discovering a uniform resource locator associated with the stream of data, and updating a list of sponsored uniform resource locators in accordance with the discovering, wherein the sponsored uniform resource locators comprise uniform resource locators that are permitted to be accessed by the digital content distribution application without impacting a data allowance allocated to the user endpoint device.
