A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a vapor compression cycle comprising a microchannel heat exchanger. A fluid is configured to circulate within the vapor compression cycle in a first direction during a first mode and is configured to circulate within the vapor compression cycle in a second, opposite direction during a second mode. A receiver is integrally formed with the microchannel heat exchanger.

A method of forming a power electronics assembly includes forming a plurality of pathway openings in a heat exchanger body and inserting a tubular member in each pathway opening of the plurality of pathway openings. The tubular member includes a plurality of internal surface enhancements. A heat exchanger is provided including a first header and a second header and a plurality of heat exchange tube arranged in spaced parallel relationship and fluidly coupling the first and second header. A flow restricting element defining a first volume and a second volume is positioned within one of the first and second header. The heat exchanger has a multi-pass configuration such that a first portion of the plurality of heat exchange tubes are coupled to the first volume and form a first fluid pass of the heat exchanger and a second portion of the plurality of heat exchange tubes are coupled to the second volume and form a second fluid pass of the heat exchanger. During operation, the heat transfer fluid conveyed through the first volume has a first saturation temperature and the heat transfer fluid conveyed through the second volume has a different second saturation temperature.

A mixing device and a vapor compression system incorporating a mixing device are provided. The vapor compression system includes a suction line, at least two compressors, and at least one mixing device that is predominantly open (e.g., i.e., include at least a certain percentage, such as seventy percent (70%), of voids/openings). The suction line is used for transferring a working fluid made up of a mixture of a refrigerant and an oil. The suction line includes at least one inlet (e.g., for receiving the working fluid) and at least one outlet (e.g., for distributing the working fluid). The vapor compression system include a first compressor fluidly connected to a first outlet and a second compressor fluidly connected to a second outlet. At least one mixing device is disposed within the suction line (e.g., to increase an internal turbulence of the working fluid).

A flow restricting element is arranged within the second header within the bend region. A refrigerated display case includes a housing surrounding multiple shelves. An air distribution gap is defined behind the shelves. An air return passage is defined below the shelves. A radial cross-flow fan is disposed in a fan region of the air return passage. The radial cross-flow fan includes an output connected to the air distribution gap. A primary cooling microchannel heat exchanger is disposed in the fan region downstream of the radial cross-flow fan such that air output from the radial cross-flow fan to the air distribution gap passes through the primary cooling microchannel heat exchanger. A pre-cooler microchannel heat exchanger is disposed upstream of the primary cooling microchannel heat exchanger.
