Systems and methods for reducing the burden of recharging on patients and caregivers are provided. The systems and methods use a microbe removal layer upstream of a sorbent cartridge in a sorbent-based dialysis system. The systems and methods can determine whether the bacterial content and remaining capacity of a non-recharged sorbent module are suitable for the sorbent module to be reused safely and effectively without recharging.

Reducing sorbent cartridge recharging requirements

In some examples, a system includes a glucose sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of a blood glucose level of a patient, a medical device configured to deliver insulin to the patient, a peritoneal dialysis (PD) device, and control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to control the PD device to deliver PD therapy to a patient during a PD cycle, determine a blood glucose level of the patient during the PD cycle based on a signal from the glucose sensor, determine that the blood glucose level is greater than or equal to a predetermined blood glucose level threshold, and control the medical device to deliver insulin to the patient in response to determining the blood glucose level is greater than or equal to the predetermined blood glucose level threshold.

The disclosure relates to systems, devices, and methods for authenticating users of any device requiring authentication, such as a medical device. The systems, devices, and methods can convert a standard USB mass storage device into a unique USB based authentication device that authenticates a user. The device can be programmed to grant access to one or more functions only upon verification of a user by inserting the USB based authentication device into the medical device.

The present disclosure relates to wastewater management that provides a method and a system for monitoring a sewer manhole from a remote location. The sewer monitoring system configured in a sewer manhole receives measured values from a level sensor and determines an accuracy error in the measured values for different conditions. The sewer monitoring system resolves the accuracy error in the measured values to obtain accurate measured values by either measuring a level of wastewater in the sewer manhole by setting a first range limit for the measured values dynamically based on an actual depth of the sewer manhole, or iteratively measuring the level of wastewater in the sewer manhole by setting unique a second range limit for the measured values dynamically. A risk associated with the sewer manhole based on the accurate measured values of the level sensor is determined, for monitoring the sewer manhole from a remote location.

The disclosure relates to method and system for performing real-time monitoring of a container containing a non-gaseous fluid substance. The method includes receiving, from a sensing device installed in the container and by a monitoring device, a dataset corresponding to the container and to a non-gaseous fluid substance in the container. The dataset may be acquired and transmitted by the sensing device at a preconfigured time-interval and may include level data corresponding to a level of the non-gaseous fluid substance in the container, temperature data corresponding to a temperature inside the container, and movement data corresponding to movement of the container or a lid of the container. The method further includes performing, by the monitoring device, a time-series analysis on the dataset for determining an anomaly; and generating, by the monitoring device, a graded alert based on the anomaly.
