A contact angle of water to a surface of the foaming layer 30 seconds after the water is brought into contact with the surface of the foaming layer is 30° or more and 80° or less, and a ratio of a diameter of a water droplet 30 seconds after the water is brought into contact with the surface of the foaming layer to a diameter of the water droplet 0.01 seconds after the water is brought into contact with the surface of the foaming layer is 1.3 times or less.

Recording medium and method for producing recorded matter having three-dimensional image

A recording medium includes a substrate, a first ink-receiving layer, and a second ink-receiving layer adjacent to the first ink-receiving layer, in this order. The first ink-receiving layer has a positive surface zeta potential, and the second ink-receiving layer has a negative surface zeta potential. The thickness of the second ink-receiving layer is 2 μm to 15 μm.

There is provided an ink jet recording medium capable of recording images excellent in color developability and light resistance. The ink jet recording medium has a base material and an ink receiving layer provided on the base material. A recording medium in another aspect of the present invention includes a recording medium substrate, a first ink receiving layer on the recording medium substrate, and a second ink receiving layer on the first ink receiving layer, wherein the first ink receiving layer is in contact with the second ink receiving layer, the first ink receiving layer contains an alumina hydrate and a hydroxy acid, the second ink receiving layer contains an alumina hydrate and a sulfonic acid.

Ink jet recording medium having anionic inorganic particles

A recording medium includes a substrate and an ink-receiving layer as the top layer. The ink-receiving layer contains inorganic particles. The inorganic particles contain cationized colloidal silica, alumina hydrate, and fumed alumina. A content of the cationized colloidal silica is 5% or more by mass and 25% or less by mass based on a content of the inorganic particles. The mass ratio of the alumina hydrate to the fumed alumina (alumina hydrate content:fumed alumina content) is from 95:5 to 55:45.

A recording medium includes a substrate, and a first and a second ink receiving layer over the substrate in this order from the side close to the substrate. The first ink receiving layer contains fumed silica, alumina, and zirconium compound. In the first ink receiving layer, the mass ratio of the fumed silica to the alumina is in the range of 40:60 to 60:40. The zirconium compound content in the first ink receiving layer is in the range of 0.1% by mass to 3.0% by mass relative to the total mass of the first ink receiving layer. The second ink receiving layer contains inorganic particles including at least one of fumed silica and alumina. The first ink-receiving layer contains an amorphous silica having an average particle size of 1.0 &#x3bc;m or more. The second ink-receiving layer contains a colloidal silica. A recording medium includes a substrate and a first ink-receiving layer. The content of the amorphous silica in the first ink-receiving layer is 30 mass % or more and 95 mass % or less based on a total content of all inorganic particles.

Provided is a recording medium including an ink-receiving layer containing an inorganic pigment and a binder on at least one surface of a substrate. The ink-receiving layer contains a compound including zirconium, silicon, and at least one element selected from Group 2 and Group 3 elements of the periodic table.
