Use of Swept Frequency Acoustic Interferometry (SFAI) is becoming ubiquitous in taking non-invasive measurements of fluid parameters like sound speed, sound attenuation and density of fluid. But measurement using SFAI is relatively slow as one needs to sweep a wide range of frequencies and for each probing frequency one needs to wait for settling time. Further, SFAI works well only on steady flow as sudden change in fluid flow destroys resonance condition, thereby making it unsuitable for flowing fluid. Present application provides method and system for faster assessment of sound speed in fluids using compressive sensing technique. The system first uses random samples in defined frequency scanning range of frequency sweep signal for generating pseudo analytic signal vector. The system then estimates pulse-echo view by applying compressive sensing technique over pseudo analytic signal vector. Thereafter, system calculates sound speed in fluid using pulse-echo view and pre-defined sound speed calculation formula.

Method and system for faster assessment of sound speed in fluids using compressive sensing technique

Temperature measurement is an important part of many potential applications in the fields of metallurgy. Conventional temperature measurement methods do not provide accurate and precise average temperature of fluid inside an enclosed chamber. The present disclosure provides multi-sensory techniques for measuring average temperature of mixed fluid inside a chamber. The average temperature is measured based on acoustic interferometry technique on standing wave and inputs received from one or more sensors and radar. The present disclosure utilizes radar to compensate the effect of fumes, noise based on Doppler effect. Further, the inputs received from the one or more sensors are used to determine the concentration of one or more fluids present in the chamber. The method of proposed disclosure depends on the principle of dependence of temperature on sound speed in fluid. So, measurement of sound speed can be mapped to report average temperature of mixed fluid inside the chamber.

Multi-sensory techniques for measuring average temperature of mixed fluid inside a chamber

This disclosure relates generally to a method and system for online handwritten signature verification providing a simpler low cost system. The method comprises extracting signature data for the subject from a sensor array for the predefined time window at regular predefined time instants. Further, differentiating the matrix row wise and column wise to generate a row difference matrix and a column difference matrix. Further, determining an idle signature time fraction for the extracted signature data of the subject being monitored from the column difference matrix. Further, determining a plurality of signature parameters based on the row difference matrix and the column difference matrix. Further, analyzing the idle signature time fraction and the plurality of signature parameters of the subject being monitored based on a Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, wherein the SVM classifier performs online classification of the extracted signature data into one of a matching signature class and a non-matching signature class.

Method and system for handwritten signature verification

Temperature measurement is an important part of many potential applications in process industry. Conventional temperature measurement methods require manual intervention for process monitoring and fail to provide accurate and precise measurement of temperature of an enclosed mixed fluid chamber. The present disclosure provides artificial intelligence based temperature measurement in mixed fluid chamber. A plurality of inputs pertaining to the mixed fluid chamber are received to build a fluid based model. The fluid based model is used to generate one or more fluid parameters. The one or more fluid parameters are used along with a ground truth temperature data and the received plurality of inputs for training an artificial intelligence (AI) based model. However, the AI based model is trained with and without knowledge of fluid flow. The trained AI based model is further used to accurately estimate temperature of the mixed fluid chamber for a plurality of test input data.

Artificial intelligence based temperature measurement in mixed fluid chamber

This disclosure relates to a system and method for measuring average temperature of mixed fluid in an enclosed chamber. Measurement is based on two independent principle as measuring variation in acoustic wave velocity and variation in resistivity that works on a single setup. First principle is based on measuring acoustic wave velocity in a known medium, which is isolated from the surrounding. The system comprises a primary pipe and a secondary pipe, wherein the ends of the pipes reside inside the enclosed chamber. The primary pipe is made out of good conductor of heat and filled with air. Ends of the primary pipe is fitted with a transducers have one transmitter at one end and one receiver at another end. Average temperature of the mixed fluid is measured based on the variations in sound velocity of acoustic wave passed through the primary pipe and resistivity variations of the primary pipe.

System and method for measuring temperature of mixed fluid in an enclosed chamber

This disclosure relates generally to a method and system for determining viscosity information of fluids. The present disclosure utilizes an intensity modulated continuous wave (CW) laser diode-based PA sensing method to obtain a continuous wave photoacoustic (CWPA) spectra. Through this CWPA spectra, a full width half maximum (FWHM) and a spectral area is determined to obtain the information about the viscosity of fluids. Although, the CWPA based sensing technique is used for distinguishing different types of abnormalities in tissues, so far it is not used for measuring viscosity which is an important thermo-physical property. The viscosity information of the fluids from the normalized Gaussian fitted CWPA spectra is based on a viscosity feature computed from a FWHM, and a spectral area. The viscosity feature improves the good of fit parameter (R) significantly to 0.98 as compared to the traditional only FWHM based viscosity determination for which Ris 0.91.

Method and system for determining viscosity information of fluids

Fluids are normally transported from one place to another through pipelines. It is essential to monitor the pipeline to avoid leakage or theft. It is expensive and not feasible to install cameras and sensors along the whole length of the pipeline. A system and method for inspecting and detecting fluid leakage in a pipeline has been provided. The system is using vibration sensors along with pressure sensors to detect the leakage or theft along with the exact location of the leakage or theft. The pressure sensors are mounted on the pipeline so that the fluid touches the diaphragm of the pressure sensors to sense the wave generated due to leakage. The vibration sensors are mounted on top of the pipeline surface and on the nearby ground to eliminate general noise conditions. Moreover, two pressure sensors are also installed at opposite sides to pinpoint the leakage location.

Method and system for inspecting and detecting fluid in a pipeline

This disclosure relates generally to methods and systems for real time unobtrusive monitoring of physiological signals of a subject confined to a bed. Output of single channel continuous wave (CW) radars are dependent upon distance of the subject from the radar. Dual channel IQ radars are more accurate but are costly and availability in the market is a constraint. The present disclosure provides a cheap and easily replicable pseudo IQ radar based system. The pseudo IQ radar comprises two CW radars placed at a calibrated distance from each other such that optimum points of one CW radar spatially overlaps null points of the other CW radar and phase imbalance is suppressed. Three such pseudo IQ radars are positioned in a predetermined configuration around the subject being monitored. A Supervised Complex Signal Demodulation (SCSD) method configured to suppress amplitude and DC imbalance is also provided for evaluating the physiological signals.

Real time unobtrusive monitoring of physiological signals

This disclosure relates generally to bio-signal detection, and more particularly to method and system for non-contact bio-signal detection using ultrasound signals. In an embodiment, the method includes acquiring an in-phase I(t) baseband signal and a quadrature Q(t) baseband signal associated with an ultrasound signal directed from the sensor assembly towards the target. Magnitude and phase signals are calculated from the in-phase and quadrature baseband signals, and are filtered by passing through a band pass filter associated with a predefined frequency range to obtain filtered magnitude and phase signals. Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) of the filtered magnitude and phase signals is performed to identify frequency of dominant peaks of spectrum of the magnitude and phase signals in the ultrasound signal. Value of the bio-signal associated with the target is determined based on weighted values of the frequency of the dominant peaks of the magnitude and phase signals.

Method and system for non-contact bio-signal detection using ultrasound signals in which magnitude and phase signals are obtained from in-phase and quadrature baseband signals

Any sensing system is faced with triangle of dilemma between accuracy, latency and energy. High energy and high latency sensing systems are often very accurate but less useful. Embodiments herein provide a method and system for edge based sensor controlling in the IoT network for event monitoring. The system disclosed herein applies a hierarchical sensor selection process and adaptively chooses sensors among multiple sensors deployed in the IoT network. Further, on-the-fly changes operation modes of the sensors to automatically produce the best possible inference from the selected sensor data, in time, power and latency at the edge. Further, sensors of the system include a waveform and diversity control mechanism that enables controlling of an excitation signal of the sensor.

Edge based sensor actuation and control in IoT network for event monitoring

A method and system is provided for assessing the learning experience of the person by monitoring the mental state of the person. The method involves measuring the brain signal, skin conductance using GSR device, and heart rate variability using the pulse oximeter. These physiological signals are measured when the person is performing an activity such as the modified Stroop test. Once the activity is performed, an offline questionnaire is also filled by the person. Based on the comparison of the offline questionnaire and the physiological signals, a model is generated. This model is used to assess the learning experience of the person. According to another embodiment, a method is also provided for maintaining the steady flow state of a person while performing any activity.

Health signal monitoring using continuous wave microwave signals is often affected by phase wrapping and null point detection issues. The disclosure herein generally relates to health monitoring, and, more particularly, to a method and a monitoring system for health monitoring using Amplitude Modulated Continuous Wave (AMCW) microwave signals. In this design of the monitoring system, the AMCW microwave signal comprises of a carrier signal and a modulating signal. The modulating signal is used for measuring heart rate and breathing rate of a subject, while the carrier signal is used to tune antenna size in the monitoring system. As the probing wavelength and the antenna size are independent of each other in this design of the monitoring system, the probing wavelength can be adjusted such that effect of the phase wrapping can be minimized. The system addresses the null point measurement problem by quadrature modulating the modulating signal.

Method and system for health monitoring using amplitude modulated continuous wave microwave signal

A system is provided for automated monitoring the health of a patient. The system is unifying the approach of multi-sensing, robotic platform and cloud computing to monitor the health of the patient with zero or very minimal human intervention. The plurality of physiological parameters and the pathological values is sensed using the plurality of physiological sensors and the plurality of pathological sensors or using a smart phone of the patient. The body of the patient is scanned using a robotic arm. The data sensed by the sensor is then identifies a set of anomalies and send the set of anomalies to cloud server. A cognitive engine present on the cloud server is then diagnoses a disease using cloud computing and send the report to caregiver and doctor. According to another embodiment, a method is also provided for automated monitoring the health of the person using the above mentioned system.

Method and system for automated healthcare monitoring of a patient

Techniques for heart rate estimation are disclosed. In an embodiment, synchronized photoplethysmograph (PPG) and 3-axis acceleration signals are received. Further, the PPG and acceleration signals are partitioned into windows. Furthermore, it is determined whether motion is present in a window of the acceleration signal. Moreover, Fourier transform is performed on the signals to obtain power spectra of the signals in the window when there is motion. Also, it is determined whether a peak of the acceleration signal is present in a range around first highest PPG peak. Further, it is determined whether the peak of the acceleration signal affects heart rate of the user when the peak of the acceleration signal is in the range around the highest PPG peak. The heart rate of the user in the window is then estimated using second highest PPG peak when the peak of the acceleration signal affects heart rate of the user.

System and method for heart rate estimation

This disclosure relates generally to methods and systems for unobtrusive and automated detection of frequencies of spatially located distinct parts of a machine. Location of vibration and detection of vibration frequency of each vibrating part in a machine is critical for routine monitoring and fault detection in the machine. Current solutions use either high frames per second (fps) industrial grade camera or stroboscopes tuned at one particular frequency. Manual stroboscopes require manual intervention for objects moving at different speeds with high convergence time. Point-lasers need prior knowledge of exact location of faults. Also Point-by-point scanning of a large machine body is time consuming. In the present disclosure, a movement detector such as RADAR enables detecting all vibration frequencies that also serve to reduce the search space of a stroboscope configured to start strobing at each detected vibration frequency to enable mapping of each vibration frequency to a corresponding vibrating part.
