A user interaction is detected that identifies an environment from which data is to be pulled for deployment in a solution represented by a solution package. Setup data is automatically extracted from an instance of an application that is to be replaced by the solution. An editable representation of the setup data is displayed for user configuration or modification. Application data is then extracted from the instance of the application according to the setup data, including any user modifications represented in the editable representation.

An update installer generates an update display for a user that displays available updates associated with a target application. The user can select updates, and the update installer accesses processes corresponding to the target application and displays an impact analysis indicating the impact that the selected updates will have on the target application.

A configuration architecture automatically links the output of a business process modeler to a business system configuration tool. The output of the business process modeler is translated into a representation of a source business process that is used by the business system configuration tool to automatically generate configuration templates. A user can provide configuration information through the configuration templates. Verification and access control for industry-specific solution package

An instance of an existing data system has one or more processes. Each process has corresponding metadata. In one example method, metadata for a given process is accessed and a visual diagram of the process is automatically generated based on the diagram. The visual diagram is displayed on a user interface display and a user modification input is received on the user interface display modifying the visual diagram to obtain a modified visual diagram. The metadata corresponding to the process is modified based on the modification to the visual diagram.
