Provided is an ink jet recording method capable of recording an image with a tertiary color, less causing color shift even with use of a recording apparatus having an ink inlet port. The ink jet recording method includes recording an image, with use of an ink jet recording apparatus that includes a plurality of aqueous inks; an ink storage portion that independently stores the aqueous inks; a recording head having formed therein an ejection orifice through which each aqueous ink is ejected; and a tube through which each aqueous ink is supplied from the ink storage portion to the recording head. The ink storage portion has provided thereto an inlet port through which the aqueous ink is filled, the tube is formed of a resin material, a cyan ink contains a phthalocyanine pigment, and both of a yellow ink and a magenta ink individually contain an azo pigment.

Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

An ink jet recording method for recording an image uses an ink jet recording apparatus that includes an aqueous ink, a first ink storage portion that stores the aqueous ink, a second ink storage portion that stores the aqueous ink without impregnating it into an absorbent, and a recording head. The second ink storage portion and the recording head compose therein an ink flow path through which the aqueous ink is supplied, a filter that partitions an upstream side and a downstream side of the ink flow path is arranged, and a ratio (A/B) of volume A (mL) of the ink flow path to the upstream side and volume B (mL) of the ink flow path on the downstream side is 5 or more, the aqueous ink contains a coloring material, a nonionic surfactant, and a first water-soluble organic solvent having a relative dielectric constant of 30.0 or less.

Provided is an ink jet recording method by which even when a multicolor image is recorded with an ink jet recording apparatus including an ink storage portion having an ink inlet port arranged in its upper portion by applying a plurality of aqueous inks each comprising a pigment to a recording medium, an image excellent in abrasion resistance can be stably recorded over along time period. The method is an ink jet recording method for recording an image on a recording medium with an ink jet recording apparatus including: a plurality of aqueous inks each comprising a pigment; an ink storage portion; a recording head; and an ink supply path. The aqueous inks include a first ink to be applied earlier to the recording medium and a second ink to be applied later to the recording medium, and the first ink has a redispersibility index of 0.90 or more.

A method of forming an image on a recording medium using an ink jet recording apparatus. The ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head in which a plurality of recording element substrates is arranged to form joint portions and a plurality of wipers is arranged to form wiper overlapping portions. The method includes ejecting a first ink from a first ejection orifice array, ejecting a second ink from a second ejection orifice array, and the plurality of recording element substrates with the plurality of wipers. The first ejection orifice array is wiped and then the second ejection orifice array is wiped. At least a part of the wiper overlapping portion wipes the joint portion. A dynamic surface tension (&#x3b3;) of the first ink is equal to or more than a static surface tension (&#x3b3;) of the second ink.

An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording method capable of recording a high-quality image in which occurrence of unevenness is decreased. The ink jet recording method is a method of recording an image by ejecting ink from a recording head including an ejection orifice ejecting the ink, an ejection element generating energy for ejecting the ink, and first and second flow paths which communicate between the ejection orifice and the ejection element and in which the ink flows. The ink jet recording method includes: an ejection step of ejecting the ink from the ejection orifice; and a flow step of flowing the ink in the first flow path to the second flow path separately from the ejection step, wherein the ink is aqueous ink containing a pigment and a specific compound having an ethylene oxide group.

An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording method capable of exhibiting excellent ejection stability of ink even after recording an image over a long period of time, while recording an image having a high optical density. An ink jet recording method capable of recording a high-quality image in which occurrence of fine unevenness is decreased. The ink jet recording method includes recording an image by ejecting ink from a recording head including an ejection orifice for ejecting the ink, an ejection element generating energy for ejecting the ink, and first and second flow paths that communicate between the ejection orifice and the ejection element and in which the ink flows. The ink jet recording method includes an ejection step of ejecting the ink from the ejection orifice, and a flow step of flowing the ink from the first flow path to the second flow path separately from the ejection step. The ink is an aqueous ink having a dynamic surface tension of 35 mN/m or more to 48 mN/m or less at 10 milliseconds.

An ink jet recording method includes: performing application of aqueous ink onto a unit area by one relative scanning with a recording head and a recording medium to record an image, wherein the aqueous ink comprises a self-dispersion pigment, a urethane resin, and polyethylene glycol, a kind of the self-dispersion pigment is carbon black, number average molecular weight of the polyethylene glycol is 600 or more, and viscosity of the aqueous ink is 5 mPa&#xb7;s or more.

Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording device

The present invention preferably provides an ink including an organic pigment, a water-soluble resin and a surfactant that allows images having high color developability to be obtained independently of the type of recording medium, even when a small amount of ink is applied. Preferably, the organic pigment is a phosphonic acid-type self-dispersible pigment, the acid value of the water-soluble resin is 100 mg KOH/g to 160 mg KOH/g, the surfactant is an ethylene oxide adduct of a higher alcohol selected from the group consisting of a linear primary alcohol, a linear secondary alcohol and an isoalkyl alcohol, the HLB value of the surfactant as determined by the Griffin method is 13.0 or more, and the mass ratio of the content (% by mass) of the surfactant in the ink to the content (% by mass) of the water-soluble resin in the ink is 0.07 to 0.70.

Ink, ink cartridge and ink jet recording method

An aqueous ink for ink jet contains a self-dispersible pigment in which a first functional group including a phosphonic acid group and a second functional group including at least one of a carboxylic acid group and a sulfonic acid group are bonded to a particle surface, wherein a surface charge amount derived from the phosphonic acid group included in the above-described first functional group is 0.3 micromoles/mor more, a total surface charge amount derived from the carboxylic acid group and the sulfonic acid group included in the above-described second functional group is 1.0 micromoles/mor more, and a total surface charge amount derived from anionic groups included in the above-described first functional group and the above-described second functional group is 2.0 micromoles/mor more and 8.0 micromoles/mor less.

Aqueous ink, ink cartridge, and ink jet recording method

A set of an ink containing a self-dispersible pigment and a water-soluble resin, which is a copolymer having a unit derived from (meth)acrylic acid, and a reaction liquid containing a surfactant, which is an ethylene oxide adduct of a higher alcohol of a linear primary or secondary alcohol or an isoalkyl alcohol and has a HLB value of 13.0 or more determined by the Griffin method, and having buffering ability in an acid region. Content of the surfactant in the reaction liquid is 0.20 times or more in terms of mass ratio as much as total content of the pigment and water-soluble resin.
