A vehicle control device activates a safety device for suppressing a collision between a host vehicle and an oncoming vehicle that is traveling straight along an oncoming traffic lane, when the host vehicle changes from traveling straight along its own traffic lane to making a right or left turn to cross the oncoming traffic lane. The vehicle control device includes a judgement unit and a control unit, where the judgement unit judges when the host vehicle is in a right or left turning condition prior to crossing the oncoming traffic lane, and if is determined that the host vehicle is in the right or left turning condition, the control unit activates the safety device based on a time to lateral collision. The time to lateral collision is obtained by dividing a lateral distance by a lateral velocity, where the lateral velocity is the velocity of the host vehicle in a lateral direction orthogonal to the straight travel direction of the oncoming vehicle, and the lateral distance is the distance, in the lateral direction, from the host vehicle to a predetermined vehicle traffic area defined along the straight travel path of the oncoming vehicle.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control apparatus selects at least one oncoming vehicle and sets the selected oncoming vehicle as a control target vehicle when an own vehicle turns right or left in a traffic intersection, acquires a first index value which represents a collision probability, and executes a collision avoiding control when the first index value satisfies a predetermined condition. The vehicle control apparatus calculates a second index value which represents a degree of turning of the own vehicle, moves an area used to select the control target vehicle toward the own vehicle in an opposite direction to a turning direction of the own vehicle as the second index value increases, and selects, as the control target vehicle, the oncoming vehicle which has been in the area for a predetermined time threshold or more.

Vehicle control apparatus

A controller for the hybrid vehicle selects an engine as a power apparatus of the hybrid vehicle when a request load is higher than a threshold load, and selects ae motor as the power apparatus when the request load is equal to or lower than the threshold load. The controller sets the threshold load in accordance with a SOC of a battery, and decreases the threshold load as the SOC is lower in at least a predetermined SOC range. The controller controls an intake air temperature during stopping of the engine to a target intake air temperature by operating an intake air temperature variable system when the motor is selected as the power apparatus. The controller sets the target intake air temperature in accordance with the SOC, and increases the target intake air temperature as the SOC is lower in at least the predetermined SOC range.

Hybrid vehicle

A controller for the hybrid vehicle compensates for a shortage of an engine output to a vehicle demand output by discharge electric power of a battery when the vehicle demand output is higher than an upper limit output of a target operating range, and charges the battery by an excess of the engine output to the vehicle demand output when the vehicle demand output is lower than a lower limit output of the target operating range. The target operating range is set to a low load side as a SOC of the battery is higher in a predetermined SOC range. Also, the controller controls an intake air temperature during stopping of the engine to a target intake air temperature when the hybrid vehicle is traveling with the engine stopped. The target intake air temperature is increased as the SOC is lower in the predetermined SOC range.

In order to supply a reducing agent to an NOx catalyst in an appropriate manner when the temperature of the NOx catalyst is high, in cases where the temperature of the NOx catalyst is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature at which ammonia is oxidized, and in cases where an NOx reduction rate in the NOx catalyst is smaller than a predetermined lower limit reduction rate, when the addition of the additive agent is carried out at least twice by changing an equivalent ratio with respect to an amount of NOx flowing into the NOx catalyst, the equivalent ratio in equivalent ratio control is made larger in the case where an amount of change of an amount of reduction of NOx accompanying a change of the equivalent ratio is larger than an amount of change of an amount of oxidation of ammonia accompanying the change of the equivalent ratio, than in the case where it is smaller than that.

Exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine

A reducing agent is supplied to an NOx selective catalytic reduction catalyst in a suitable manner, while suppressing NOx from being produced by oxidation of ammonia in the NOx catalyst. In cases where the temperature of the NOx catalyst is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature at which ammonia is oxidized, an amount of the reducing agent to be supplied to the NOx catalyst is made larger, when an air fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the NOx catalyst is small, than it is large.

An amount of reducing agent adsorbed on a NOx catalyst when a reducing agent supply device is normal and a corresponding detected value may be estimated. The corresponding detected value may be detected by a NOx sensor, and the detected value may correspond to an amount of reducing agent adsorbed on the NOx catalyst. When the estimated amount of adsorption is larger than or equal to a first amount and is smaller than or equal to a second amount, a diagnosis of the NOx catalyst based on the detected value of the NOx sensor may be prevented. The first amount may be an amount of adsorbed reducing agent corresponding to a minimum value of the corresponding detected value. The second amount may be an amount of adsorbed reducing agent corresponding to the corresponding detected value when the amount of adsorbed reducing agent is zero and larger than the first amount.

Malfunction diagnosis apparatus and malfunction diagnosis method

A reducing agent is supplied to an NOx catalyst in a suitable manner, while suppressing NOx from being produced by oxidation of ammonia in the NOx catalyst. In cases where the temperature of NOx is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature at which ammonia is oxidized, an amount of ammonia or an amount of a precursor thereof to be added into exhaust gas from an addition valve is made smaller, when an air fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the NOx catalyst is larger than a predetermined air fuel ratio, than when the air fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is equal to or less than the predetermined air fuel ratio.

The invention provides a technique for more accurately executing failure diagnosis for an exhaust gas control apparatus having both a selective reduction function and a filter function. To this end, a failure diagnosis apparatus according to the invention for the exhaust gas control apparatus having both the selective reduction function and the filter function computes a NOpurification rate pertaining to a case where the exhaust gas control apparatus is normal based on an estimated value of the amount of particulate matter (PM) collected or accumulated in the exhaust gas control apparatus and an estimated value of the NOratio of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust gas control apparatus, and determines that the exhaust gas control apparatus fails when the difference between the result of the calculation and an actual NOpurification rate exceeds a threshold.

Failure diagnosis apparatus for exhaust gas control apparatus

In an exhaust gas control system for an internal combustion engine, addition valves which add an additive toward a first selective reduction NOx catalyst are provided in an exhaust passage on both of an upstream side and a downstream side of the SCR catalyst. In a case where a flow rate of exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust passage is equal to or lower than a predetermined flow rate, the additive is added from both addition valves to allow ammonia to be adsorbed onto the first selective reduction NOx catalyst.

Exhaust gas control system for internal combustion engine and control method for internal combustion engine

An additive amount of a reducing agent to a selective reduction-type NOx catalyst is optimized. An ammonia adsorption amount of the selective reduction-type NOx catalyst is estimated based on one or a plurality of prescribed parameters related to the ammonia adsorption amount and a specific ammonia adsorption amount that is an estimated value of the ammonia adsorption amount specified by at least one of a maximum value and a minimum value of an estimated value of the ammonia adsorption amount is estimated based on an error in the prescribed parameter, and when the specific ammonia adsorption amount is outside a target range of the ammonia adsorption amount, addition of an ammonia precursor or ammonia using an adding valve is controlled such that the specific ammonia adsorption amount returns to the target range.

Exhaust gas purification apparatus of internal combustion engine

An exhaust control system for an internal combustion engine comprises: a trapping capability acquisition part that obtains information regarding a PM trapping capability, based on a detection value of an exhaust sensor provided to detect a predetermined parameter relating to an exhaust gas flowing out of an SCRF; and a NOx reduction capability acquisition part obtains information regarding a NOx reduction capability, based on an amount of NOx in the exhaust gas flowing out of the SCRF. The exhaust control system determines and distinguishes between a trapping abnormal state in which a PM trapping function by the SCRF is failed and a sensor abnormal state in which a detection function of the predetermined parameter by the exhaust sensor is failed, based on the NOx reduction capability obtained by the NOx reduction capability acquisition part, when the trapping capability obtained by the trapping capability acquisition part is in a predetermined low trapping capability state. This allows for accurate abnormality determination with regard to the SCRF in the exhaust control system for the internal combustion engine having the SCRF.

Embodiments of the present disclosure may improve the accuracy of diagnosis in diagnosing whether an exhaust gas purification system having an SCR filter is faulty. It is determined that the exhaust gas purification system is faulty if the NOx removal rate with the SCR filter calculated using a measurement value of an NOx sensor is lower than or equal to a predetermined criterion removal rate. In the apparatus, a differential pressure change rate defined as the increase in a converted differential pressure value per unit increase in the filter PM deposition amount is calculated. The value of the criterion removal rate is set higher when the differential pressure change rate at the time when the measurement value of the NOx sensor is obtained is lower than a predetermined threshold than when the differential pressure change rate is higher than or equal to the predetermined threshold.

Fault diagnosis apparatus for exhaust gas purification system

A diagnostic system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The diagnostic system may include an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit may determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. The predetermined condition may be a condition under which an amount of particulate matter that separates from a filter is larger than or equal to a predetermined separation amount as a urea water-originated deposit once accumulated in the filter separates in gaseous form. When the electronic control unit determines that the predetermined condition is satisfied, the electronic control unit may not execute a diagnosis of a malfunction in the filter based on a filter differential pressure until a predetermined period elapses from the point in time at which it is determined that the predetermined condition is satisfied.

Diagnostic system for internal combustion engine

An object of the invention is to suppress a reduction in accuracy of abnormality diagnosis with an abnormality diagnosis device for an exhaust gas control apparatus that performs the abnormality diagnosis regarding the exhaust gas control apparatus by using the amount of NOflowing into an SCR catalyst as a parameter. In the abnormality diagnosis device for an exhaust gas control apparatus according to the invention provided with an exhaust gas control apparatus including the SCR catalyst, a supply device supplying ammonia to the exhaust gas control apparatus, an EGR device allowing some of exhaust gas to flow back to an intake passage from an exhaust passage further downstream than the supply device, acquiring means for acquiring a NOinflow amount as the amount of NOflowing into the exhaust gas control apparatus, and diagnostic means for diagnosing an abnormality of the exhaust gas control apparatus by using the NOinflow amount acquired by the acquiring means as a parameter, the abnormality diagnosis regarding the exhaust gas control apparatus by the diagnostic means is prohibited in a case where the amount of the ammonia allowed to flow back along with the exhaust gas by the EGR device exceeds an upper limit value.
