A method for displaying a TV program to a viewer, comprising receiving a plurality of TV programs, allowing the viewer to select one of the plurality of received TV programs for viewing, and responding to the viewer selection by controlling the programming displayed to the viewer in accordance with the viewer selection and with previously determined viewing preferences of the viewer. Controlling the programming displayed to the viewer may include displaying the viewer selected program and additional programs selected in accordance with the previously determined viewing preferences of the viewer. The additional programs may include advertisements.

Method and apparatus for delivery of television programs and targeted de-coupled advertising

A synchronous switching DC-DC regulator uses the output switching node as the control reference for the main FET gate drive voltage limiting and the appropriate on-time gate drive FET as the controlled switch. The control reference provided by the output switching node times the main FET gate drive voltage setting process and supplies most of the energy necessary to turn on the main FETs. The energy is provided in part from an external inductor coupled to the output switching node.

An energy efficient gate drive technique for binary push-pull MOSFET switching systems having a common switch node with inductive and capacitive elements connected to this common switch node. These energy storage elements on the common switch node can be parasitic in nature or discrete components. This technique recycles otherwise lost PMOS gate drive energy through the switch node, as a storage element, to the NMOS output FET.
