A vessel including a motion compensation platform are disclosed. The platform comprises at least one carrier for bearing, moving and/or transferring a load, and a gangway provided with a first end pivotably connected to the carrier and a second end for contacting a target area. Further, the platform comprises a multiple number of first actuators for moving the carrier relative to the vessel, and at least a second actuator for moving the gangway relative to the carrier. The platform also comprises a control system arranged for driving the multiple number of first actuators, and motion sensors for measuring motions relative to at least one element in a target area, which measurements are used as input for the control system. The control system is also arranged for driving the at least one second actuator.

Method for controlling a vessel motion compensating platform

A computer program for compensating for motion of a boat as it floats on water includes computer code for causing a processor to receive motion measurements of the boat floating on water relative to another element in an area surrounding the boat, and generate driving signals for driving actuators operatively associated between the boat and at least one carrier based on motion of the boat, wherein the actuators hold the at least one carrier substantially stationary relative to the element based on the driving signal.

A method for compensating for motion of a boat as it floats on water includes measuring the motion of the boat relative to another element in an area surrounding the boat, generating a driving signal for driving actuators operatively associated between the boat and at least one carrier based on motion of the boat, driving the actuators to hold the at least one carrier substantially stationary relative to the element based on the driving signal and relieving weight on the actuators by at least partially bearing the weight of a load and the at least one carrier by an at least partially passive pressure element.
