The invention provides a process for treating waste water from an industrial process for producing propylene oxide, which comprises subjecting the waste water to a catalytic wet oxidation treatment comprising: feeding a stream comprising the waste water to a reactor; subjecting the stream comprising the waste water to an oxidation treatment in the presence of oxygen and a catalyst resulting in a treated stream; sending at least part of the treated stream to a separator wherein the treated stream is separated into a gas stream and a liquid stream; and recycling part of the liquid stream to the reactor.

The invention provides a process for treating waste water from an industrial process for producing propylene oxide, which process comprises subjecting the waste water to a catalytic wet oxidation treatment in the presence of a catalyst comprising metal nanoparticles-doped porous carbon beads.

A process for preparing an alkylene oxide comprising contacting an alkyl phenyl hydroperoxide with an alkene in an epoxidation reaction to obtain an alkylene oxide and an alkyl phenyl alcohol, wherein the alkyl phenyl hydroperoxide is prepared by a process comprising reacting an alkyl aryl compound and oxygen to produce a reaction mixture comprising alkyl phenyl hydroperoxide, alkyl aryl compound and oxygen; separating at least a part of the reaction mixture into a product stream comprising alkyl phenyl hydroperoxide and an alkyl aryl compound stream; mixing at least a part of the alkyl aryl compound stream with a basic aqueous solution; separating at least a part of the mixture of alkyl aryl compound and basic aqueous solution with the help of a coalescer to obtain an organic phase containing alkyl aryl compound, and an aqueous phase; and recycling at least a part of the organic phase to the reacting step.

A process for manufacturing allylhalide from gaseous propene and a gaseous halogen comprising introducing propene into a tubular loop reactor (2) through an inlet nozzle (3); introducing gaseous halogen into the tubular loop reactor (2) through several axially spaced groups (6) of radially placed inlet openings (4); allowing the propene and the halogen to react; and removing reaction effluent from the tubular loop reactor (2) through an outlet opening (9), wherein the concentration of halogen in any reactor volume-element is maintained below 3% by mass based on the total gas mixture, and wherein the linear gas velocity of the propene exiting the inlet nozzle is at least sufficient to maintain a continuous circulation within the tubular loop reactor (2) and equipment to be used for said process.
