Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the techniques described herein may support balancing of system usage costs with performance. For example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a usage cost message indicating usage costs associated with each unique set of operating parameters supported by the UE, including a first set of operating parameters associated with a first usage cost and a second set of operating parameters associated with a second usage cost. Each set of operating parameters may further be associated with a respective quantity of receive beams of the UE for operating according to the respective set of operating parameters. Additionally, the UE may receive an indication for the UE to operate according to the first set of operating parameters or the second set of operating parameters based on the first usage cost and the second usage cost.

Techniques for sharing usage cost information

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, a configuration of a beam prediction model that is trained to predict beam measurements for a set of beams. The UE may receive, from the network node, an indication of a subset of beams, from the set of beams, that are to be associated with a measurement report. The UE may transmit, to the network node, the measurement report indicating one or more predicted beam measurements that are based at least in part on an output of the beam prediction model, the output of the beam prediction model including beam predictions associated with the set of beams, and the one or more predicted beam measurements including information associated with the subset of beams. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Disabling beam prediction outputs

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a node may identify a set of co-located nodes associated with a co-location condition relative to the node. The node may receive, from the set of co-located nodes, measurement information regarding at least one of: a beam measurement, a transmission reception point (TRP) measurement, or a cell measurement. The node may perform a search based at least in part on the measurement information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Cooperative measurement by co-located devices

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may receive, from a first network entity, data to be relayed to a second network entity. The mobile station may transmit the data to the second network entity. The mobile station may receive, from the second network entity, a digitally signed acknowledgement of reception of the data. The mobile station may transmit the digitally signed acknowledgement to the first network entity. Numerous other aspects are described.

Mobile station relaying verification

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The network may manage access to a cell on a per-beam basis. The network may indicate, for a given beam, whether a user equipment (UE) is able to access the cell via the given beam. Accordingly, the UE may access a cell using a beam that is not barred for the UE. In some examples, control signaling may include a list of each beam associated with the cell and may indicate whether each beam is barred or accessible. In some examples, control signaling include a field indicating whether the particular beam on which the control signaling was transmitted is barred. In some examples, control signaling may indicate whether a cell is barred. The UE may interpret the indication of whether the cell is barred as indicating whether the beam on which the control signaling was transmitted is barred.

Beam specific network admission

Aspects of the present disclosure provide mechanisms for transmitting discovery signals to enable discovery of a cell. Synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) carrying the cell identifier of the cell may then be transmitted either on-demand or with a higher periodicity than discovery signals. The discovery signals and SSBs may be transmitted within a same bandwidth part and on at least overlapping sets of frequency resources.

Network energy saving with discovery signals

Aspects described herein relate to determining, based on a received signal strength, a set of potential backhaul nodes for providing a backhaul link in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network, determining, based at least in part on additional information regarding the set of potential backhaul nodes, at least one backhaul node of the set of potential backhaul nodes to which to connect over the backhaul link in the IAB network, and indicating, to an access node, the at least one backhaul node for attempting connection over the backhaul link.
