This invention includes a method and a node () for locating objects in a structured overlay peer-to-peer network (). Known distributed hash table DHT algorithms are not well suited for wild card searches. This problem has been solved by the current invention by using a node () configured with a finger table () and a stochastic selector () adapted to perform a stochastic search algorithm. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the stochastic search algorithm uses weighted probability values that are assigned to each established connection () between the node () and other nodes () in the overlay peer-to-peer network ().

Method and node for locating objects in a peer-to-peer network

The invention relates to a method for generating a data authentication key for allowing data communication over a wireless channel between a first mobile device and a second mobile device, comprising: associating said mobile devices to each other by means of said key. The invention comprises: allowing a shared physical or mechanical condition to be applied generally simultaneously upon said devices; detecting, in said first mobile device, said condition; defining, in said first mobile device, said authentication key based on the detected condition; and transmitting said key to said second mobile device. The invention also relates to a mobile device configured for generating a data authentication key for allowing data communication over a wireless channel to a further mobile device.

Method and mobile device for generating a data authentication key

The invention relates to a wireless device, configured for ensuring authentication of a user, to a reference unit configured for ensuring authentication of a user of the wireless device and to a method for ensuring authentication of a user. The wireless device comprises a checking unit configured for scanning a distance to a reference unit and for checking if the distance scanned lies within a predetermined range such that authentication of the user is ensured. In this way, a wireless device is provided which is simple and cost-effective to realize and increases security by making sure that the rightful owner is available without the need of asking for PIN codes, passwords or other measures, such as biometric recognition, i.e. voice recognition, fingerprint recognition, retina recognition and the like.

Vicinity-based multi-factor authentication

System and method for balancing a number of incoming connections of nodes connected to a peer-to-peer network. The method includes receiving at a selecting node information about out-finger candidates. The information includes at least a quantifiable parameter for the out-finger candidates and the out-finger candidates are possible nodes to be connected to the selecting node. The method includes calculating in the selecting node, for each node of the out-finger candidates, a probability value by using a predetermined probability function that uses as input the corresponding quantifiable parameter; and selecting one node from the out-finger candidates to be an out-finger node for the selection node based on the probability value. The probability value is associated with a number of in-finger connections to the selected out-finger node.

Load balancing method and system for peer-to-peer networks

The invention relates to a haptic navigation system, configured for providing a haptic instruction to a user, and to a method for providing a haptic instruction to a user. The haptic navigation system comprises a navigation module comprising a route calculation unit, configured for calculating at least one route for the user to go to a predetermined destination, and a user interaction unit, configured for capturing at least one input parameter from the user, and a feedback unit configured for receiving an instruction sent from the navigation module and for converting the instruction received into a haptic instruction such that the user find the correct route. In this way, a haptic navigation system is provided which is reliable, cost-effective to realize and can easily be integrated into existing navigation systems while at the same time making it possible to get rid of displays or voice recognition in navigation applications.
