A method for performing a synchronization run for an elevator car stopped between floors—upon initiating the synchronization run, driving the elevator car at a low speed in order to detect a first magnet of the elevator shaft, detecting the first magnet of the elevator shaft, comparing the identification code of the detected first magnet to stored pre-information in order to identify the detected first magnet, in response to identification of the first magnet, generating a control signal to the elevator car to travel up to an elevator rated speed, and driving an elevator car with an elevator rated speed.

Method and an elevator system for performing a synchronization run of an elevator car

According to an aspect, there is provided a communication system for transmitting safety information in an elevator system. The communication system comprises a first node; and a second node; wherein the first node is configured to receive first safety information from a first safety node via two parallel communication channels, to convert the received first safety information into a serial form for transmission in a first safety message over a single communication channel between the first node and the second node and to transmit the first safety message to the second node over the single communication channel; and the second node is configured to receive the first safety message and to convert the first safety information in the first safety message back into the parallel form for transmission via two parallel communication channels to a second safety node.

A method for preventive maintenance of an elevator speed sensor system includes at least a first and a second sensor, which are independent of each other. The method includes: determining a reference distance for an elevator car travel between a first door zone and a second door zone, during the elevator car travel, defining continuously a first elevator car speed information from the first sensor and a second elevator car speed information from the second sensor, calculating a cumulative sensor system error by integrating the difference between the first elevator car speed information and the second elevator car speed information, and dividing the cumulative sensor system error with the reference distance to obtain a sensor system performance indicator.

A safety circuit board for controlling an electromechanical brake and motor controller of a passenger transport installation includes at least one processing unit, a main safety output with an associated relay connected to the at least one processing unit and providing a connection to the electromechanical brake and motor, and a secondary safety output with an associated relay connected to the at least one processing unit and providing a connection to the electromechanical brake and motor. The main safety output and the secondary safety output are configured in parallel enabling control of the electromechanical brake and motor with the at least one processing unit using either of the safety outputs.

Escalator system

An escalator system includes a pit having an access cover plate, a detector indicating when the access cover plate is open and when it is closed, and a user interface which is located in said pit and which in an active state provides the escalator system with control signals controlling the operation of the escalator and which in a passive state does not affect the operation of the escalator. In order to improve the safety of the escalator system the escalator system is configured to stop movement of the escalator if the detector indicates that the access cover plate is closed while the user interface is in the active state.
