A structural assembly for a vehicle that includes a main body, a left apron, a right apron, a left strut cap, and a right strut cap. The left apron is fixed to a left upper rail and defines a first opening extending therethrough. The right apron is fixed to a right upper rail and defines a second opening extending therethrough. The left strut cap is secured to the left apron such that the left strut cap covers the first opening. The right strut cap is secured to the right apron such that the right strut cap covers the second opening.

A structural assembly for an electric vehicle includes a battery structure, a pair of mounting structures, lower fasteners and upper fasteners. The battery structure is configured to house power storage units. Each mounting structure is secured to a respective side of the battery structure. Each lower fastener extends through a lower portion of a respective mounting structure and a bottom portion of a respective rocker of the vehicle body. Each upper fastener extends through an upper portion of the respective rocker and a top portion of the respective mounting structure. The upper fasteners secure the battery pack and the vehicle body at an upper attachment point and the lower fasteners secure the battery pack and the vehicle body at a lower attachment point. The lower attachment point is vertically offset from the upper attachment point.

A structural assembly for a vehicle that includes a cast main body, a left apron, a right apron, a left mounting feature, a right mounting feature, a left strut cap, and a right strut cap. An example apparatus includes a strut brace including a first portion to removably couple to a cowl of a vehicle, a second portion to removably couple to a first shock tower on a first side of the vehicle and a second shock tower on a second side of the vehicle, and a third portion to removably couple to at least one of (i) a first longitudinal member on the first side of the vehicle and a second longitudinal member on the second side of the vehicle or (ii) an upper front rail on the first side of the vehicle and the second side of the vehicle, the third portion to traverse an axial centerline of the vehicle.

The example electric vehicle includes a battery pack mounted in the mid-section of the frame, the battery pack including battery pack cross-members, each of the battery pack cross-members connected to a top surface of the longitudinal frame rails and a bottom surface of the longitudinal frame rails.

This disclosure relates to a roof rail for a motor vehicle. In particular, the roof rail includes a divider wall configured to resist a clamping force, such as that which is expected to be applied to the roof rail from a cross bar of a roof rack. An example assembly includes a roof rail with a closed cross-sectional area and an open cross-sectional area separated by a divider wall.

A traction battery pack support system includes, among other things, a vehicle frame rail of an electrified vehicle, a traction battery pack, a vibration isolator that is disposed outside an interior of the vehicle frame rail and is at least partially vertically aligned with the vehicle frame rail, and at least one fastener that couples the traction battery pack to the vehicle frame rail through the vibration isolator.

A vehicle includes members spaced from each other and elongated along a vehicle-longitudinal axis. A battery module includes end plates spaced from each other along the vehicle-longitudinal axis. Battery cells are sandwiched between the end plates and a connector extends from one end plate to the other end plate. The end plates extend from one of the members to the other of the members.

A body-on-frame vehicle includes a left frame rail, a right frame rail, a plate, a plurality of cross-members, a plurality of power storage modules, and a first electric motor. The plate is attached to both frame rails. The plurality of cross-members are attached to both frame rails. Adjacent cross-members cooperate with the plate and frame rails to define compartments. The plurality of power storage modules are disposed within a plurality of the compartments. The first electric motor is supported by a section of the frame rails forward or rearward of the power storage modules.

This disclosure details electrified vehicles that are equipped with removable generators for increasing the electric range of the vehicles. An exemplary electrified vehicle includes a cargo space, such as a truck bed, and a generator removably positioned within the cargo space. The generator is adapted to selectively supply power for either charging a battery pack of the electrified vehicle or for propelling one or more vehicle drive wheels. In some embodiments, the generator is shaped like, and therefore disguised as, a toolbox.
