A fiber reinforced concrete includes a plurality of reinforcing wire meshes scattered and suspended in random orientation throughout the volume of concrete. The reinforcing wire meshes include a first set of two or more parallel wires extending along their length in a common plane and a second set of three parallel wires orthogonal to the first set along their length in a common plane. The first set and second set constitute an entire reinforcing member. The wire meshes may be formed by casting or welding in which the wires lie in a common plane or separate planes, respectively. The reinforcing members may have a total of two or four contiguous rectangles arranged in a mesh pattern. Free ends of the reinforcing members may be included and extend beyond the mesh pattern for increased anchorage. A method of reinforcing concrete is disclosed and may include a central or diagonal bend in the reinforcing members.

Wire mesh concrete reinforcement members and methods of use thereof

The reinforced concrete beam with a corrugated web reinforcement plate uses a web reinforcement plate for reinforcing deep and shear critical concrete beams. A corrugated plate is embedded in the concrete beam, where the corrugated plate has a top edge with a periodic shape and a bottom edge with a periodic shape. The periodic shape of the top edge has a larger wavelength than a wavelength of the periodic shape of the bottom edge. The corrugated plate may have a plurality of openings formed therethrough. A plurality of pipes may be received by, and pass through, at least a portion of the plurality of openings formed through the corrugated plate. Each of the pipes may have a pair of obliquely angled open ends such that the planes defining the open ends are normal to the top and bottom faces of the concrete beam.

The multi-leg fiber reinforced concrete is concrete in which fibers have been embedded to prevent the concrete from being fractured due to cracks developing therein. Each fiber has multiple legs, defining two and three dimensional structures. At least one fiber is embedded in a volume of concrete, where the at least one fiber has at least first and second legs respectively extending along first and second directions. The first and second directions are angularly oriented with respect to one another between 45&#xb0; and 135&#xb0;, with each of the first and second legs having a free end and a fixed end. Each free end has a substantially Z-shaped contour. The fixed ends of the first and second legs may be joined together to define a two-dimensional fiber structure. The at least one fiber may be partially coated with a polymeric material, such as polypropylene.
